The Data Center Global Services organization is looking for an individual with proven and tested leadership skills to help bring to fruition a newly developed Facilities Operations Center. The Facility Operations Center is responsible for 24X7 monitoring of the data center's physical infrastructure and will serve as a facilitator for all Large Scale Events. This team will ensure that the customer experience will be optimal and gratifying by way of consistency, reliability and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will need to have an understanding of data center IT Infrastructure and data center Facilities infrastructure and how the two entities co-exist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the onsite team. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. Qualified candidates must also have experience functioning in a large-scale data center and have demonstrated and displayed the ability to think outside of the box. This skill is essential, as the candidate will assist with aligning the Facility Operations Center with the larger objectives of other business and peer organizations. You will need to play a role with growing the team to a standard of operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities
- Monitors the global data center Amazon facilities infrastructure platform
- Serves as a Point of Contact for internal and external teams

**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation.
This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.

+ Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
+ Building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU's and utilities.
+ Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
+ Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures. Follow all safety processes and requirements and ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met. Conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
+ Complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.
+ Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
+ Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.

**What You'll Need:**
+ Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays

Key job responsibilities
Our Controls Design Engineers:
- Are controls subject matter experts (SMEs) with their knowledge of building operations, electrical generation and distribution equipment (i.e. generators, UPS etc.), mechanical plant and strategies (i.e. AHUs, chillers etc.), BMS/EPMS programming concepts, control diagrams, industrial HVAC, electrical line-ups, one-line diagrams, and complex environmental and electrical concepts
- Create, maintain, and disseminate project specific scope of work (SOW) documents, specifications and engineering drawings as well as global design standards
- Operate in high security critical environments while maximizing productivity
- Innovate to develop new solutions to support both team and company goals and initiatives
- Interpret and develop a combination of mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings
- Are a central point of contact as technical subject matter experts for multiple internal and external groups regarding mechanical and electrical controls standards.
- Manage and prioritize requests for information on new construction builds, existing site facilities support and legacy site enhancement projects
- Ensure systems are deployed and commissioned to our documented standards
- Strive for frugality through budgetary review and approval with a strong customer focus and ability to interpret customer needs
- Are technical subject matter experts in mechanical and/or electrical controls
- Anticipate roadblocks and risks while providing escalation management
- Work quickly and autonomously to deep dive and resolve unexpected challenges
- Effectively manage external consultants' performance ensuring high quality delivery
- Review vendor bid packages and make selection recommendations
- Work across multiple projects simultaneously
- Interact with AWS cloud services and other applications in order to present, archive and analyse accumulated data
- Solve problems to drive results whilst handling multiple tasks
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to manage your projects (circa 25% of the time)

As part of the EMEA controls design team, you will work with highly motivated experts and innovators in the data center industry. You will be tasked to lead the electrical and mechanical controls design of critical infrastructure projects including HV Substations, Leased and Colocation Data Centres. You will work on developing new processes and standards and test new innovations in the controls space utilizing Amazon leadership principles.

Basic Qualifications
- Good understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC.
- Demonstrated leadership in IT technology and MEP/ ACS design engineering focused environments to deliver results.
- Experience driving large-scale enterprise data center projects.
