THE ROLE
You will lead a dynamic team of accountants, ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service across a diverse portfolio. You'll oversee workflows, maintain high standards of risk and compliance, and create an environment where your team feels empowered, motivated, and supported. Your leadership and technical expertise will drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all deliverables.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- You manage and oversee client relationships, ensuring smooth operations, timely deliverables, and consistent, high-quality service
- You lead, mentor, and develop your team, planning and reviewing performance, training, and career growth to build a high-performing culture
- You maintain effective risk and compliance oversight, ensuring all client work meets the Group's standards for quality and control
- You act as a subject matter expert on accounting frameworks, products, and structures, supporting system improvements and operating model enhancements
- You identify opportunities to enhance processes, drive efficiencies, and create additional value for clients and the business

Qualifications
ABOUT YOU
- You are a qualified accountant (CAI, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP
- You have proven experience managing client relationships and leading accounting teams to deliver excellent results
- You bring strong analytical and technical accounting skills, with advanced Excel capabilities; experience with Investran or Reporting Services is an advantage
- You demonstrate exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and inspire others
- You have at least 5 years of post qualified accounting experience, ideally within a fund services or client accounting environment

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- 2+years' Fund Accounting experience within Operations
- Understanding of the components of daily NAV calculations and financial instruments
- Knowledge of Fund Accounting requirements for UK OEICs and/or Luxembourg SICAVs an advantage
- Third level degree qualified, ideally in Accounting or Business
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven track record at being attentive to detail and well organised
- Motivated to acquire knowledge, develop and advance

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Conducts accounting services on behalf of assigned clients and moderately complex funds including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses and preparing reports.
- Performs Fund/Client Accounting responsibilities in the areas of driving Service Improvement plans, targeting efficiencies, enhancing processes and specialist review functions. Checks the work of more junior team members.
- Responsible for cash and asset reconciliations related to more intricate accounts or transactions within assigned funds. Performs reconciliation of account expenses for more complex transactions and ensures they are allocated appropriately. Escalates atypical transactions to senior team members.
- Drafts reports for clients regarding the performance of funds. May reviews first draft reports completed by more junior staff.
- Interacts with clients in answering questions regarding fund reports and accounting processes.
- Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
- Ensures the timely and accurate completion of all work within the team.
- Ensures adherence to BNY standard policies, procedures and controls at all times.
- Manages the basket production workflow to service multiple clients/funds.
- Reviews data and assists in resolving escalated problems that may arise during the normal daily, weekly or monthly accounting and reporting.
- Ensures client concerns/requests are addressed as soon as possible and within an agreed timetable.
- Supervises/manages the day-to-day operations of a small- to medium-sized team of fund administrators and fund accounting support team.
- Assists, as required, with planning, testing and implementation of internal and client driven projects.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and well organized.
- Ability to communicate any significant operational issues that arise to Manager.
- IT literate – proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

- 10-12 years of total work experience in fund accounting, expense management or financial operations within the asset management industry with at least 3-5 years in expense management preferred.
- Proven ability to recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution and professional growth.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, expense ratio reporting and regulatory requirements.

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Private Equity, Fund/Client Accounting Manager to join our Private Equity team. This role is located in Dublin, Ireland and will be working in a hybrid capacity.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Oversee multiple small teams or one large team of Accountants responsible for conducting accounting services on behalf of assigned clients, including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.
- Ensure that your respective teams are operating efficiently, coordinate client deliverables, and ensure timely delivery.
- Oversee multiple teams in determining the net asset value (NAV) for assigned funds for each measurement cycle, including review of their allocated funds.
- Review capital call and distribution calculations and notices, ensuring these are calculated in line with the underlying fund documentation.
- Build relationships with assigned clients and resolve any escalated issues related to fund calculations and accounting.
- Provide guidance to teams to ensure that accounting records are maintained in accordance with departmental policies and procedures; resolve escalated issues from team members.
- Support new fund launches by joining client calls, reviewing fund documentation, and ensuring appropriate system setups.
- Evaluate GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY fund accounting practices; provide guidance to teams on the implementation of new policies to follow regulations.
- Recruit, guide, motivate, and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively as a team.
- Lead working relationships with auditors and clients to make changes to financial reports and ensure they accurately depict fund performance. Participate in projects at both global and client levels, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and required testing.
- Identify areas of efficiency in the NAV process and ensure tasks are automated where possible.
- Contribute to the achievement of team objectives.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional designation (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CFA) preferred.
- Experience in private equity and fund or client accounting.
- Excellent leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems including Investran and Geneva.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
- People management experience required.
