Job Description
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures tailored to business needs.
- Select appropriate cloud services and components to optimize performance and cost.
- Plan and execute cloud migration strategies (e.g., rehost, replatform, refactor, rearchitect, rebuild, replace, repurchase).

- Overall accountability for the cloud domain architecture roadmap incorporating best practices to support PTSBs business objectives.
- Lead and drive the Cloud Centre of Enablement (CCoE) to ensure effective cloud adoption across the organisation.
- Define and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards in alignment with PTSBs regulatory requirements.
- Encourage and foster engineering best practices across development and infrastructure delivery teams with a focus on fast flow.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years' experience across multiple IT roles with at least 5 years' experience in Cloud Architecture, Engineering or Operations roles for large, regulated FSIs.
- Experienced in leading cloud transformation initiatives within a complex organisation, including development of Cloud Strategy.
- Experience in AWS or Azure well architected frameworks and understanding of core SRE concepts.
- Technical knowledge of Public/Private Clouds with a specialism in AWS, Azure or GCP, including delivery of cloud deployment patterns.
- Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep as well as container mgmt. platforms like OCP.
- Knowledgeable in cloud security, compliance, and regulatory frameworks within the financial sector (e.g. ISO27001, CSA, NIST, SOC)
- Excellent Risk Management skills including mitigation strategies specific to ensuring safe use of Cloud technologies.

What you'll doJoin Vodafone as a Senior Oracle Cloud Architect Lead and help shape the future of cloud infrastructure across our global operations. In this strategic and hands-on role, you'll lead the transformation of legacy systems into modern cloud platforms, primarily using OCI and Azure, with a strong focus on large-scale data environments. You'll design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions that support billions of data points daily, while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
You'll be at the forefront of innovation—guiding teams, mentoring talent, and collaborating with stakeholders to align cloud architecture with business goals. From developing prototypes and proof-of-concepts to implementing cost-optimized solutions, your work will directly impact operational excellence and system health. You'll also play a key role in ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards, while continuously improving performance and reducing downtime.

You might be a great fit if you bring:
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a cloud architecture role.
- Proven success deploying cloud solutions in large-scale environments.
- Deep expertise in Oracle Database technologies (Autonomous DB, Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, Golden Gate).
- Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud, containerized environments, and infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).
- Experience with OCI and Azure cloud platforms.
- A solid understanding of security, compliance, and high availability frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- A track record of leading virtual teams and managing complex database migration projects.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
