Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on Cloud Security Engineer to join our security team as an individual contributor. You'll be responsible for proactively improving our security posture across our multi-cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and runtime environments. This role is within the CTC Product Security team aligned to the Azure Cloud Enablement (ACE) programme. As a Cloud Security Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Public Cloud is adopted in a secure and compliant manner. You will play an important role in identifying and managing risk related issues and actions with respective technology. You will have an eye for detail and an ability to see the big picture across security issues.
Responsibilities:
- Support the execution and enhancement of a long term information risk and control strategy designed to keep the information assets of the public cloud secure.
- Deliver risk based assessments of secure technology controls relating to cloud services, cloud platforms and architectural components.
- Support business technology teams to understand firm control requirements and implementations across a broad range of cloud architectures.
- Perform security reviews of infrastructure-as-code for cloud platform development.
- Contribute to documentation and agile processes in support of security programs.
- Interface with wider CTC teams ensuring platform integration with security operations, threat intelligence, IAM and network security.

- Keen desire to understand and secure public cloud technology.

- Self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated and strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.

- AWS, Azure or Google Cloud certifications would be an advantage.
- Hands on experience of developing, engineering or architecting within a public cloud environment would be an advantage.
- Experience engineering with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code would be an advantage.
- Understanding of DevOps or CI/CD concepts would be an advantage.

**Role Description**
SMBC is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer who has a strong passion for cloud security systems and is interested in building a career at a fast growing and reputable Bank. The engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure and services. This role ensures that cloud environments (such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) are protected against internal and external threats, comply with industry standards, and support the organization's security and business goals.
**Role Objectives**
+ Manage different cloud security products to protect the Bank's environment.
+ Monitor cloud environments for security breaches, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations.
+ Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for cloud platforms.
+ Manage and monitor other security products related to email, chat, file shares, and other types of data.
+ Collaborate with other security and IT teams to integrate and enforce the best security practices.
+ Support other IT departments requiring additional expertise to resolve user issues or provide internal support on system performance or maintenance needs.
+ Coordinate incident response with all engineers and system owners during outages.
+ Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
**Qualifications and Skills**
+ 1-3 years experience supporting information security tools and applications or equivalent experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related fields.
+ Knowledge of one or more cloud service providers: Azure, AWS, GCP.Knowledge of leading CNAPP, CSPM products like Wiz and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
+ Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
+ Some scripting or software development experience.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Have a self-motivated and disciplined approach to learning and working.
+ Strong analytical and investigation skills.
+ Process documentation, flow charting, and re-engineering experience.
