Job Description Role Purpose The primary purpose of this role is the efficient management of an assigned area of Day Services. This role will also involve the implementation of programmes for the people we support and the supervision and management of staff. General Duties Have the flexibility to work across all of Day Services to meet the needs of the service. Take the lead role in setting day services strategy for the people we support. Play an active role in the wider development of day services as required. Promote best practice as per New Directions. To follow correct procedure for all incidents / accidents. Keep accurate records. Communicate with the line managers daily and provide up-to-date service reports. Promote innovation in service delivery throughout day services. Promote person-centredness throughout the service The Person Minimum, Level 8 Degree Social Care Work which is CORU approved. Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience working in the area of intellectual disability. Must have knowledge of all relevant legislation and New Directions standards and a proven ability to implement same. Implement strategies to apply social role valorisation as a pathway for the people we support. Have a strong person-centred vision in the development of vocational and recreational supports in the community. Minimum of 1 year leadership and staff management experience and be able to demonstrate same. Post graduate qualification in management is desirable. A clean driving licence is desirable. General Duties Provide oversight and governance of the assigned day service. Manage day to day planning and activities of the assigned day services. Lead a team within the assigned day service. Provide staff supervision and have a good oversight of staff training and performance. Establish and maintain relationships with the people we support based on equality and respect. Reporting to the Service Manager on a regular basis on the effective operation in their work location. Ensure that the needs of the people we support are being constantly met. Maintain full and effective communication with families and anyone else involved in supporting and caring for the people we support. To develop and maintain effective communication with all colleagues regarding the people we support. Implement operational plans as determined by Care Management The Person CORU approved Level 7 Degree in Social Care or currently registering with CORU as a Social Care Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to the values of Stewarts Care to improve the lives of our service. Ability to work on own initiative. Experience of working with people with complex need in a variety of different situations. Excellent organisational and communication skills. High initiative and integrity. Must have knowledge of all relevant legislation and New Directions standards and a proven ability to implement same. Demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting the rights and needs of people with an intellectual disability. Ability to make clear and concise reports regarding the people we support, either verbally or in writing. High level of flexibility, a willingness and an ability to develop new approaches to their work as a person's needs change.
