Job Purpose:

The Technician's primary function is to provide maintenance and technical support to site Facilities team at the plant while adhering to all site safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory, cGMP and to HPRA and FDA standards.

Purpose of the Role:

To provide hands-on, proactive support in maintaining site facilities and production equipment across the plastics recycling plant. Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Responsibilities

  • Promote and follow best practice Health & Safety standards in all maintenance and facilities-related activities.
  • Support the implementation and execution of the preventative maintenance schedule for all production and facility assets.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in coordinating daily and weekly maintenance tasks, monitoring completion, and updating maintenance records accurately.
  • Maintain service history logs and documentation in line with audit and compliance requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support across a wide range of maintenance activities, including:

  • Participate in or lead cross-functional improvement projects focused on reducing downtime, increasing asset reliability, and driving cost savings.
  • Liaise with external contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure maintenance work is completed on time, within standards, and in line with SLAs.
  • Support the creation, improvement, and implementation of maintenance SOPs, work instructions, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Work with the Procurement team to:
  • Establish and maintain a spares inventory system for critical parts
  • Monitor usage and stock levels
  • Ensure timely reordering and minimise lead-time-related downtime
  • Improve procurement efficiency for maintenance-related purchases
  • Identify areas for improvement across both equipment and facilities and suggest solutions to enhance long-term performance and reliability.

Key Competencies

  • Strong practical knowledge in mechanical systems, building services, and general trades.

Role Summary
*The Facilities & Maintenance Operative supports the Facilities Manager in delivering both reactive and planned maintenance services across all Tigers Childcare sites. This role ensures that premises, equipment, and outdoor areas are safe, functional, and presented to the highest standards. The role involves mobile, hands-on work across multiple locations, requiring flexibility, a safety-first mindset, and a commitment to high-quality service.
Duties/Responsibilities *

  • Maintain the company's buildings, grounds, furniture, equipment, and fittings to a high standard, both internally and externally, in line with agreed specifications.
  • Take reasonable steps to prevent damage to the structure, assets, and equipment of the company, including interior and exterior elements.
  • Carry out upkeep and touch-up of paintwork as needed to maintain visual standards.
  • Promptly identify, report, and where appropriate repair hazards that could pose a risk to the health, safety, or welfare of children, colleagues, or visitors.
  • Ensure that all facilities are kept in a safe, secure, and operational condition, in compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures.
  • Respond to adverse weather by implementing appropriate safety measures (e.g. gritting, clearing access paths, securing outdoor items).
  • Act as a designated keyholder, attending to alarm activations and site access issues as required.
  • Record utility meter readings (gas, water, electricity) when requested, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in the Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system, including job status updates, maintenance logs, and relevant risk assessments.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with Tigers Childcare's Health & Safety policies and current statutory obligations.

  • Support regular compliance inspections (e.g. Tusla, fire officers) by ensuring facilities are prepared and documentation is available.
  • Support the setup and safe installation of new equipment or furniture across services.
  • Ensure all tools, materials, and substances are safely stored and maintained in line with H&S regulations.
  • Perform routine checks on lighting, heating, plumbing, and emergency systems to ensure ongoing functionality.
  • Assist with moves, assemblies, and minor reconfigurations of internal spaces when required.
  • Liaise with the Facilities Administrator and other support teams to prioritise tasks and coordinate schedules effectively.
  • Raise purchase or repair needs with the Facilities Manager, including recommendations for replacement of worn-out equipment or fixtures.
  • Any other duties company management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require.

We provide reactive and preventive maintenance for our commercial clients in retail and commercial sectors. We have been established since 2011 and are growing year on year as we increase our customer base. We are seeking field based electricians with a strong project management & estimating background to join the Field Service team reporting into the Operations Management team. The position is a full-time permanent position and the hours of work are 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday. It is important to note flexibility around these core hours may be required on occasions to support the needs of the business. Ample overtime is available on top of the base salary.
