**Manager - Optimization and Continuous Improvement**
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Works on more complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors, strong judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations (typically high impact issues that have implications across functions).
+ Supports senior leadership in creating and implementing mid-long-term plans for the Optimization and continuous improvement function.
+ Can lead projects of moderate complexity, often working cross-functionally with team members of varying levels.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to create written communication that is properly structured providing clear, concise messages that draw well supported conclusions with input from the team lead; Associate Director.
+ Participates in complex projects such as the strategic review of a regions logistics infrastructure, but does not lead the project.

+ Assists in determining the activities to support a project's priorities within functional area.

**About the Role**
We are looking for a performance-driven professional with a solid background in Operational or Business Excellence and hands-on experience managing soft services within a manufacturing environment. This includes critical support functions such as cleaning, preventive maintenance, pest control, and general facilities upkeep. The ideal candidate combines process optimization skills with an engineering mindset and has a deep understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory expectations associated with soft services in a production setting.
**LOCATIONS: Ireland OR Netherlands & Germany**
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives across soft service operations, ensuring alignment with
+ OPEX/BEX principles
+ Optimize cleaning, sanitation, and facility maintenance processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness
+ Develop and implement KPIs to monitor performance of soft services vendors and internal teams
+ Lead audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning for deviations in facility hygiene and maintenance standards
+ Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, HSE, and procurement teams to ensure integrated service delivery
+ Lead or support cross-functional projects related to facility upgrades, service outsourcing, or cost reduction
+ Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, and other relevant regulatory frameworks
+ Provide training and coaching on lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies
**Key Requirements**
+ Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field
+ 5+ years' experience in manufacturing environments, with a focus on soft services (cleaning, maintenance, sanitation, etc.)
+ Proven track record applying OPEX/BEX or Lean methodologies in facility or support service contexts
+ Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for soft services in GMP or high compliance industries
+ Exceptional stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills
**Preferred Skills**
+ Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
+ Experience working with outsourced service providers or managing service-level agreements (SLAs)
+ Familiarity with CMMS, CAFM, or other facility management tools
+ Knowledge of ISO standards, GMP, EHS, or similar compliance frameworks
+ Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities within soft services, such as analyzing and improving cleaning effectiveness using metrics like cost per square meter, labor efficiency, and material utilization

Job Summary Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch is looking for a Head of Business Architecture & Operational Excellence (BA & OPEX) in Dublin or Wexford for an estimated 24-month secondment period. The Head of Business Aechitecture & Operational Excellence (BA & OPEX) leads the business analysis team within Business change and transformation department. You will also have responsibility in driving business architecture, project shaping, and continuous improvement activities to enable and support the delivery of Zurich's strategy. This role is accountable for building and developing a high-performing team, driving robust process and capability improvement, and ensuring all change initiatives are aligned to organisational priorities and delivered efficiently, within financial, resourcing, and time constraints. By championing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence, the Head of BA & OPEX enables measurable value for customers and the business. The role partners closely with the Head of Project Delivery, Governance & PMO to ensure seamless alignment from project shaping through to delivery, and acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on transformation, operational efficiency, and change adoption. Your Role Business Analysis & Architecture Build, coach, and empower a high-performing Business Analysis team to deliver requirements gathering, process analysis, supporting solution design, and business case development for all major change initiatives. Define and maintain Zurich's business architecture, ensuring alignment with strategic direction, digital transformation, and the target operating model. Provide design input on complex projects, collaborate with enterprise and solution architecture, and identify opportunities for simplification and capability development. Operational Excellence Drive a culture of continuous improvement, embedding Lean and process optimisation practices with the operational department, to deliver measurable efficiency gains and enhanced customer experience. Lead the capability building and best practice sharing for OPEX specialists, fostering innovation and operational excellence across GI Ireland. Project Shaping & Portfolio Delivery Lead early-stage project shaping, including feasibility, scoping, and strategic alignment, and ensure robust handover to project teams. Provide leadership in business analysis and architecture across the change portfolio, collaborating with the Business Change colleagues to ensure successful delivery, benefits realisation, and resolution of issues. Ensure all BA/OPEX activities are prioritised and aligned with Zurich's local and group objectives, supporting effective demand planning and resource allocation Strategic Partnership & Change Leadership Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, aligning BA/OPEX initiatives with Zurich's long-term strategy and customer priorities. Champion new ways of working and effective adoption of change, providing coaching and support to teams during transitions. Maintain strong, trusted relationships across the organisation and represent BA & OPEX in cross-functional and group-wide forums. Risk Management & Compliance Ensure all BA/OPEX activities comply with Zurich's internal controls, risk management policies, and regulatory standards.
