Optum is looking for an experienced, curious and self-motivated individual with experience in account management and contract negotiations. They will take responsibility for establishing and managing strong relationships with multiple pharmaceutical companies, with the primary objective to lower the overall cost of medicines for our members.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of Industry Relations, Emisar. We are looking for people who can collaborate cross-functionally with various business units; finance, operations and clinical teams, and can demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple competing business projects at one time.

**Primary Responsibilities of the Associate Director, Business Strategy:**
+ Execute contract negotiations and interactions with pharmaceutical manufacturers that are in compliance with UHG corporate policies, directives, business goals and objectives
+ Coordination of the redlining process as well as communications and negotiations of contractual terms and conditions in tandem with internal stakeholders (Emisar IR leadership, legal, clinical, contracting)
+ Manage regular reports and updates for the leadership team reflecting business performance and priorities
+ Financial modeling analytics for rebate optimization and lowest net cost strategy assessment of pharmaceutical products
+ An ability to navigate established clinical guidelines determined
+ Act as a strategic thought leader to solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree (or higher) OR equivalent experience
+ Experience in contract negotiations, strategy development and contract redlining experience
+ Experience of working with internal and external Senior Leaders

+ Proven ability to work well and collaboratively, with multiple teams or departments for business growth or profitability goals
+ Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information
+ Organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects at one time

+ Support site specific energy supply growth efforts and data center interconnection strategy and execution in partnership with local utilities and Transmission System Operators (TSOs).
+ Develop business cases for new power generation resources (either on, near, or offsite), transmission system expansion, and other novel approaches of capacity delivery for new large loads.
+ Work with execution teams across the organization, translate grid operators' technical requirements into project and future product requirements (e.g. on-site battery energy storage solutions) to guide new site selection efforts and unblock paths to grid capacity.
+ Collaborate with TSO and other stakeholders on transmission expansion plans by leading independent modeling of transmission needs and constraints search of alternative solutions to mitigate grid constraints, and assess regional resource adequacy roadmaps.
+ Optimize existing and develop new transmission infrastructure for system reliability and security of power supply.
