This individual will be highly organised, have excellent communication and numerical skills and can work in a high pressurised and fast paced environment. The role will be responsible for shaping CRH's corporate sustainability reporting disclosures, delivering key social and safety data (including human resources, human rights and safety outputs) and ensuring compliance with relevant reporting regulatory requirements and industry standards. Your
Education and Experience
- At least years' postgraduate experience in an operational, delivery-focused role
- Educated to degree level or equivalent; previous exposure to sustainability, human resource, human rights, health and safety or finance related subject matter is an advantage.
- Experience or education in the social aspects of ESG/sustainability and/or safety management would also be advantageous.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and use of databases is essential

The project: The sustainability support provide assistance to the head of sustainability in leading the project's sustainability agenda, facilitating collaboration with all the project directorate functions to identify and realise opportunities for the project to be more sustainable, efficient and innovative. The role holder will be required to provide support in the establishment of the sustainability function within the project directorate and will work cross functionally and with contractor(s) and consultants to help capture market leading sustainable solutions that are innovative and remain efficient throughout the project's lifecycle. The role holder shall assist in the establishment of the sustainability, efficiency and innovation performance metrics based on the stated objectives for the project using relevant global benchmarks and leading practice while also providing support in overseeing the design and implementation of the performance measurement framework to enable the project to achieve or outperform those targets.

You'll need to have:
- Less than years' experience embedding sustainability and efficiency into high value metro rail projects or projects of a similar scale and complexity.
- Experience interpreting business strategy and determining innovative solutions which support strategy implementation.
- Tangible experience of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
- Proven track record of embedding lean manufacturing, sustainability and continuous improvement methods.
- Experience implementing value management and benefits realisation approaches and methodologies within a major capital programme environment.
- Previous experience working in a comparable consultancy environment, or with a client or contractor organization.
- Knowledge of policy and procedure implementation.
- Ability to manage technical outputs to drive efficiency.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.
You'll also have:
- BEng/BA/BSC in a related discipline ideally from environmental science or engineering discipline.
- Degree/diploma/certification in sustainability.
- 10 years plus experience with an environmental bias within sustainability.
- Level 9 masters in relevant field would be advantageous.
- Practicing/training/compliance certification - Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.
- Professional Memberships - ISSSP, PMI, APM or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
- Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
