**Job Summary**
Technology and Data Risk Management (TDRM), performs the second line oversight of technology and Cybersecurity Operational Risks for TDGF. The successful candidate will provide independent oversight and challenge to the 1st line of defense and ensures that the risk profiles of the region and legal entities is properly understood and operating in line with Operational Risk Appetite.
The role will report into the Head of TDRM (Europe and Asia-Pacific).
**Accountabilities**
The successful candidate is expected to perform the following activities:
+ Support the Head of Operational Risk in all technology and cyber risk management oversight activities
+ Oversee consistent and effective implementation of the Technology and Cyebersecurity risk management framework and initiatives in TDGF, supporting in broader EAP entities where necessary.
+ Manage the establishment and monitoring of regional and legal entity risk profiles and risk appetite statements
+ Promote a culture of risk management and control, supported by training, tools and advice to the first line in carrying out its accountabilities
+ Review and challenge of Technology Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), Control Testing, Technology Asset Risk Assessments and results, including to ensure that risks and key controls are properly identified and assessed
+ Review, challenge and reporting of Technology and Cyber related Internal Loss events. Establish root cause analysis/deep dives where appropriate and ensure timely remediation of gaps
+ Support Issues Management oversight and analysis and 2A validation of remediation, where required
+ Review of change governance initiatives or projects impacting the EU Entity, providing second line challenge of risks related to in-scope change
+ Represent TDRM in participating in various local and regional meetings/ working groups including the Banking Licence application programme
+ Stay updated on Technology and Cyber Risk developments, regulations, and industry best practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities Embed threat modelling, security design & architecture reviews into product and application teams so they adopt our control products and create products that are secure from the start Proactively monitor Key Risk Indicators to ensure issues are identified, quantified, communicated, and managed in a timely manner, including recommendations for resolution, and identifying the root cause/key themes Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors Works with stakeholders and senior leaders to recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability Serves as function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on cybersecurity concepts and proficient advanced experience Hands-on practical experience delivering enterprise level cybersecurity solutions and controls via Threat Modeling and Security Design & Architecture Reviews Advanced in one or more programming languages and demonstrated ability to review source code to identify security flaws and recommend secure coding patterns Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable, in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., Multi-Cloud platforms, containerization technologies, managed Kubernetes services etc.) Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight Practical cloud native experience Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience effectively communicating with senior business leaders Proven experience of upskilling and learning modern technologies Experience with Red Hat OpenShift enterprise application platform Experience working with vendors to evaluate third party technologies and products About Us J.P. Role/ Department: This role will sit in the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team within Northern Trust's Technology function (1st Line of Defense). As a Cybersecurity GRC Compliance Associate, you will play a role in supporting the mission of the team which includes monitoring adherence to cyber rules and regulations, controls oversight and assurance, and co-ordination of cyber controls information and evidence to regulators, auditors and clients. The ideal candidate will combine a Compliance or Audit mindset and experience with knowledge of and passion for cybersecurity. The key responsibilities of the role include: Support the cyber compliance and assurance team by assisting with daily tasks and contributing to ongoing projects Help coordinate information and gather evidence for cyber controls (including SOC2 and SOX testing and reporting etc.) as needed Work with Internal Audit to provide requested documents and support audits related to cybersecurity Assist in compiling information and evidence on cyber controls for regulatory requests Assist in preparing information and evidence on cyber controls for client requests, helping to support client needs and inquiries Contribute to ensuring compliance with cyber-related regulatory requirements in the different regions where Northern Trust operates Help maintain the cyber controls evidence repository by organizing materials and supporting quality and consistency of information Track and report on cybersecurity issues and findings, making sure information is up to date and remediation steps are monitored Work with colleagues in the broader Cybersecurity team to help make sure new products, services, and processes are compliant and controlled Collaborate with team members and various internal stakeholders to improve understanding and implementation of cybersecurity regulations and internal controls in business and technology practices Skills/ Qualifications: Experience in Cybersecurity, Compliance, Audit, or a related area Basic understanding of cyber regulations, risk management frameworks, and methodologies Strong interest in cybersecurity and eagerness to learn and grow within the field Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a team Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a keen attention to detail Relevant certifications such as Security+ or similar are a plus, but not required Working with Us: As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
