What does a successful Data Product Manager do?

A Data Product Manager for 'Merchant Insights & Reporting' at Fiserv is responsible for leading the development and management of products that provide merchants with valuable insights and reporting capabilities. In the data and AI-driven world, the Product Manager plays a critical role in shaping innovative offerings, commercialization, staying ahead of market trends, and ensuring alignment with evolving customer needs, positioning the company for success and growth in the dynamic data-driven landscape.

What you will do:

  • Define product strategy and roadmap by proactively identifying current offerings, gaps, market demands & customer needs and present data and findings in a compelling way to influence leadership decisions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements

  • Be responsible for a healthy backlog management on Jira, based on based on value, business goals, and customer needs for delivery in a Scaled Agile environment.

  • Participate in sprint planning meetings, defining sprint goals, and ensure that user stories are well-understood, estimated accurately, and delivered within the scheduled iterations.

  • Work closely with development teams to lead and monitor product development to ensure timely and successful delivery of product features and facilitate any necessary adjustments to optimize product delivery.

  • Lead client facing discussions, gain feedback and develop go-to-market strategies by collaborating with sales and marketing teams to drive product adoption.

  • Monitor industry developments and stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in merchant insights and reporting.

What you will need to have:

  • At least 7+ years of experience in a product management role in the fintech or payments industry.

  • Commercially focused data analytics domain expert with strong customer centric thinking

  • Deep technical understanding of big data platforms with proficiency in SQL

  • Working knowledge of data analysis, data modeling and database management

  • Hands on experience in implementing various analytical prototypes using Python or other relevant tools and technologies.

  • Familiarity with machine learning to leverage predictive analytics, and other AI-driven capabilities in data products to generate valuable insights and personalized experiences for merchants.

  • A self-motivated and results focused individual with the ability to take ownership for issues through to resolution.

What would be great to have:

  • Master's degree in product management, digital marketing, data science, business intelligence or similar subjects.

Position Description
KKR is building out an enterprise data group to collect, manage, and harness the power of data across our diverse portfolio investments. Reporting into the Global Markets Operations team, this group will help ensure all KKR data is accessible, consumable, and drive the curation of insights across the organization.

The KKR Data Operations group is seeking an experienced data professional to partner in the development and maintenance of data management and reporting across various verticals at the firm, including but not limited too Sustainability, Communications, Marketing, Public Reporting, Citizenship, Public Affairs, Sustainable Credit, etc. Success in this role will ensure all KKR data is accessible, consumable, and to drive the curation of insights across the organization.

This is an opportunity to assist in the creation, and ultimately take ownership of, data management processes aimed at ensuring clean and quality data, which is integral to the success and growth of the business. Strategic, analytical, and collaborative, this team member will work alongside a small, entrepreneurial team to implement, maintain, and manage portfolio monitoring and reporting data as well as processes. They will become the admin and specialist of various data platforms and drive strategic data mining initiatives in service of these different verticals. In addition, they will assist the team leads in identifying broader data operations and analytics themes that influence broader external messaging and internal storytelling and status tracking.

Responsibilities
Data Management & Creation:

  • Partner with Communications and Global Market Operations Analytics and Technology teams on the creation of relevant data models, including the ingestion of data from source systems into the KKR Snowflake instance and curating the relevant business logic needed for reporting.
  • Implement and own the best-in-class data governance practices; ensuring that data is well defined & transparently documented (what data exists, where does it exist, and how is it being used).
  • Collaborate with engineering and make recommendations to integrate external systems into the KKR Snowflake instance and improve dataflow between external systems.

Data Reporting

  • Reporting platform management: Responsible for the operations, maintenance and enhancements of existing (and future) external reporting platforms, including facilitating automated data collection and reporting within the platform tools (e.g. Workiva). This will require partnering with several teams (Sustainability, Impact, etc.) on curating data for the reports they are currently generating via the Workiva platform.
  • Collaborate with Head of Sustainable Credit on Sustainability Data Collection and reporting across KKR Credit Funds.
  • Work with the Public Affairs team to visualize and present relevant analytics and reporting needed for internal and external meetings.

Data Integration & Thought Leadership

  • Point of contact for data-related questions and updates from various internal and external groups, delivering ad-hoc analytics to answer key business questions in a timely manner.

Technical
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
