As a Project Director at WSP in the PMCM Rail team you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a single large, complex rail project or a programme of smaller rail projects, of regional, national, and international significance. + Developing and managing Client relationships, through effective listening and influencing skills.
Stakeholder Management
+ Engaging at a senior level with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and local authorities.
+ Addressing stakeholder concerns and managing expectations effectively.
Commercial and Risk Management
+ Accountable for contracts being managed in line with contract rules of engagement (including NEC3/4).
+ Accountable for the management of project/ programme budgets, tracking, and reporting.
+ Optimising resource utilisation and ensuring financial performance aligns with project/ programme goals.
+ Ensuring that potential key risks to project/ programme are identified and that suitable risk mitigation measures are actioned to suit.
Safety and compliance
+ Being a safety leader, driving safety performance and compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations. Discharge CDM duties as required by the Client.
+ Ensuring all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, adhering to corporate governance and standards.
Project/ Programme Planning
+ Managing the project's/ programme's governance, planning, project controls and reporting arrangements according to appropriate requirements and quality.
+ Facilitate reviews of the strategic plan and associated workstreams, monitoring progress, and formally assessing the programme's continued alignment with its objectives, with any interventions identified.
Innovation and Efficiency
+ Driving innovative solutions and implement processes to enhance project/ programme efficiency and productivity. Evaluate and integrate new technologies and methodologies to improve overall performance.
+ Accountability for driving continuous improvement in a structured manner including strategy, efficiency, industry influence and operational improvements with measured benefits. **What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ A degree in a relevant engineering or management discipline (such as project or construction management, engineering, science, or building).
+ Chartered membership of a relevant professional body, or nearing completion of this status would be advantageous.
+ APM / MSP / PMI / PRINCE2 / Six Sigma certifications are considered beneficial.
+ Experience in project/ programme management, including Technical and Project management, and Project Controls.
+ Experience of working in a senior management role, on multiple significant projects, with demonstrated Client-side project/ programme delivery in a commercial environment.
+ Experience working at a senior level with organisations such as Network Rail, HS2, TfGM, and other rail-related entities is seen as advantageous.
+ Experience in building successful project/ programme delivery teams.

**Health and Safety Regional Lead & Business Partner**
**Role objective:**
Working closely with Senior Management, Global Health & Safety, regional HR teams and country local H&S coordinators, provide Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) leadership within the region around our people & offices and commercial delivery of programs & projects (guardrails, compliance and the mitigation/control of risk). This roleleads a health & safety team and is the key position within the region in supporting thebusiness to drive a culture of HSE technical excellence and performance to protect people, assets and brand.
**Position:** Health & Safety Regional Lead & Business Partner (supporting Advisory and EA/DCS)
**Reporting** : Operations (dotted line to Global Head, HSE)
**Education and Experience**
**Requirements:**
University degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification from an Occupational Safety & Health accreditation body (ex. NEBOSH, BCSP).
Minimum 7+ years construction experience, preferably within heavy industrial, infrastructure, refining environments and/or manufacturing.
Working knowledge of regional construction and basic governmental HSE regulations & standards.
Clear understanding and articulation of an HSE Management System and associated elements.
Demonstrated experience of auditing principles & practices.
**Preferred:**
Auditor training/qualifications ideally to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
Project Management Certification from an accredited body (ex. PMI).
Experience with HSE elements delivering projects in principal/PMC.
**Skills, Abilities and Personality Traits**
Demonstrated experience delivering results in a highly matrixed and at times, ambiguous environment.
Ability to establish and build strong relationships and stakeholder across a diverse network.
High level of energy, be a self-starter and prioritize a range of activities within a high-pressure environment.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, communication skills (oral & written) and highly customer/client-centric approach.
Proficient in English; other languages may apply, depending on regional and country expectations.
**Additional technical competencies and/or requirements:**
Experience with using a variety of industry software that support HSE Management Systems.
PowerPoint, MS Word & Excel - intermediate user or above.
**Essential Duties & Role Requirements**
**Leadership**
Leads a team of regional health & safety professionals & non-H&S professionals, driving a global central and regional strategy of compliance and managing risk.
Drives a culture of safety and visible leadership commitment into everything we do by continually assessing organizational maturity, establishing baselines and creating action plans in partnership with the business.
Acts as the key in-region H&S lead, developing implementation strategies to support global central initiatives and business operations expectations.
Implements and integrates the H&S Management System framework, standards and regional business practices to ensure alignment, legal compliance and overall management of risk.
Continually assesses HSE risk through execution of the global central assurance strategy and development & execution of regional audit plans; includes measurement of risk of people with within offices and client sites and execution of commissions/project delivery.
**Management**
Provides direct and timely counsel and information to management on account, market area and/or region on HSE matters including trends, performance or concerns.
Participates in sales and solutioning through RFI/RFP support, commercial contracts and other business development activities to win, keep and grow the business.
Manages the HSE notification, escalation and investigation process for the region; investigates incidents where appropriate, identifies root causes and helps to drive a mindset of learning & improvement from incidents.
**Technical**
Implements and manages key programs and initiatives (both global central and regional) to reduce risk; drives project management of initiatives including appropriate stake holdering, communication plans and training delivery.
Works directly with teams on evaluation of project risk prior to contract execution, helps teams to consider mitigation strategies/tactics through hierarchy of controls, evaluates HSE Site-Specific Plans and ensures audits are performed.
Serves as lead investigator for any SIF (serious incident) or PSIF (potential serious incident) events. Produces preliminary/final reports and provides required presentations to regional senior leaders and global central H&S, when requested.
Timely communicates any compliance findings, concerns and non-conformances to the appropriate and responsible management team. Follows through to ensure issues, concerns and/or deficiencies are corrected.
Drives the global central training plan into the region and bespoke regional HSE training plan; includes monitoring mandatory H&S training and reporting on status, developing bespoke training and delivering across the region.
Produces metrics and dashboards when required, proactively identifies trends and proposes local action plans; develops board reports and other periodic report-outs and updates.
**Administrative**
Maintains compliance & legal registers for the region.
Maintains records on the global H&S database.
Maintains H&S content on company systems for the region, including H&S software, T2, others.
In partnership with Risk Management, coordinates insurance claims, liaison with state authorities and developing/maintaining Return-to-Work (RTW) plans.
Maintains incident records and stats for the region
In partnership with HR, support wellbeing initiatives.
Support H&S consultants/professional services, when needed.
