Electronics Engineer – Medical Device Industry

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Electronics Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team working on innovative medical technologies. This role focuses on the design and development of hardware systems incorporating wireless communication, neuromodulation, and physiological sensing, while also supporting validation, manufacturing, and product lifecycle activities.

Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to design, build, and test current and next-generation medical devices.

  • Support all phases of product development, from concept through to post-production.

  • Participate in circuit prototyping and manage relationships with prototyping service providers.

  • Contribute to validation testing including EMC, wireless coexistence, safety, reliability, and performance.

  • Facilitate design transfer by working closely with manufacturing and quality teams.

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing to optimize production processes and ensure efficiency.

  • Design, develop, and validate custom PCBA test equipment for internal product testing.

  • Investigate hardware failures from the field and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Conduct design work using CAD tools such as Altium, SPICE, and MATLAB.

  • Solve engineering challenges using sound principles—from basic concepts to complex problem-solving.

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or a related discipline).

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the medical device industry (or other highly regulated sectors) in a product development or manufacturing role.

Core Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong foundation in digital and low-noise analog circuit design.

  • Proficiency in embedded systems development, including C/C++ programming and interfacing with microcontrollers (e.g., Bluetooth, UART).

  • Experience working with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors, with an understanding of IPC standards.

  • Familiarity with CAD tools and simulation software (e.g., Altium, SPICE, MATLAB).

  • Understanding of quality systems (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 9001, 21 CFR Part 820, EU MDR).

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and validate test methods.

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to clearly present technical ideas across all levels of the organization.

  • Knowledge of risk management practices (e.g., FMEA, ISO 14971).

  • Experience with Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.

Preferred & Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in medical devices, electro-acoustic systems, or other regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of EMC compliance and testing (e.g., FCC, Radio Equipment Directive).

  • Familiarity with international safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601, IEC 60950, IEC 60065).

  • Experience applying statistical methods and tools such as R, STATA, or MATLAB.

  • Understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement practices.

  • Strong attention to detail, quality-driven mindset, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

SiriusXM's new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM's streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms. How you'll make an impact:

As a Senior Engineer on the CE software engineering team at SiriusXM you will be joining a group of engineers responsible for architecting, building and maintaining infrastructure and client applications across a number of consumer electronics areas. These clients serve millions of listeners daily on both the SiriusXM and Pandora streaming platforms.Some of the product areas the team supports include smart speakers and voice assistants, TVs and set-top boxes as well as applications developed by third-party partners.This specific role will be focused on development for the Roku platform with assistance and support from developers working on other CE devices.

You will work closely with Product Management and UX Design to implement innovative features and measure their impact. You're comfortable working in a distributed, fast-paced environment and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You have a collaborative attitude and love working with others to find elegant solutions to complex problems, always keeping the end user in mind. You have a solid foundation of the Roku hardware and software ecosystem, including SceneGraph, BrightScript and the full suite of Roku development tools. You will be developing brand new channels as well maintaining existing channels through their lifecycle.

What you'll do:

Design and build applications and related software systems to support both new and existing Roku channels

• Engage with the API and other backend teams to gather and define specifications for client development

• Interface with the Roku partner team on channel certification, bug fixes and compatibility with OS updates

• Develop, maintain and review analytics systems to track the stability, reliability and performance of the Roku channel and any required features and flows

• Work with product management to understand and implement product requirements and user stories

• Participate in agile ceremonies including scrums, sprint planning sessions and sprint reviews

• Document all technical design, code, build and release procedures

• Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure code coverage

• Troubleshoot client implementation problems as reported by listeners, the support team and other developers

• Upgrade and maintain client code as partner devices and platforms evolve

• Work with backend and infrastructure teams to implement new service features

• Represent the CE Engineering teams across the organization i.e., attending meetings to demo or help other teams integrate our clients.

• Contribute to the overall development, maintenance and health of backend services as needed by CE clients

• Present and communicate project work to teammates and other project stakeholders (product managers, analysts, etc.).

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, relevant experience

• 3+ years of software development with strong JavaScript & Java experience

• 1+ years of experience developing highly scalable Roku channels

• Experience working with agile / scrum development methodologies

• Experience with well documented, well tested software or other systems of considerable technical complexity

Requirements and General Skills:

• Knowledge of industry-standard application architectures, design patterns and technology standards and best practices.

• Extensive knowledge of application development

• Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, design patterns and their impacts on application concurrency and scalability

• Experience and understanding of the agile development process

• Understanding of mobile, web, and consumer electronic devices and their use cases, especially voice & live streaming platforms

• Interface with the Amazon partner team on channel certification, bug fixes and compatibility with OS updates
