Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities for the mechanical engineering team. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Lead troubleshooting efforts for production and site-based issues related to mechanical parts and designs Essential Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 5 Year Experience in mechanical design and engineering with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials, including sheet metal and copper components. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Key job responsibilities
- Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support our data centres.
- Work with internal teams to understand user requirements.
- Participate in site selection reviews
- Manage design consultancy firms to create, review and release data center designs
- Manage change, versioning and configuration control.

A day in the life
Engineers will be responsible for innovation, design and leading design consultants for new AWS regions projects by delivering designs from concept to the permit and construction document set. You must be capable of defining critical equipment specifications and approving equipment submittals. Engineers will directly support construction and be a part of the process from site selection review through commissioning and ultimately turnover. - Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/construction.
- The ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high level review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer with Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience directly related to data center or mission critical facility design such as Pharmaceutical, Hospital or Semi-Conductor projects. Understanding of BIM & CFD modelling
- Previous consultant negotiation and management skills associated with design, construction and project execution.
- Experience with fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects.
- Experience with large scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms. Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
