Responsibilities

  • Implement maintenance strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives, including establishing and maintaining a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the reliability and availability of all equipment.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we're looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or Biotechnology operations/GMP environment.

Responsibilities:


• To work as a team member to support Moulding/Tooling, Assembly in line with all safety, regulatory and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing both reactive and planned maintenance support to the full site
  • Carry out installations and commissioning of plant/ equipment & trouble shooting of same
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximizing uptime of machinery & minimise downtime in production and utility areas
  • Troubleshooting using PLC Programs
  • Technical support for all the plant facilities
  • Carry out engineering work orders in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to cGMP
  • Adhere to all site policies on Quality, Environmental and Health & safety.
  • Assist the Health & Safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machines
  • Ensure Health & Safety training is rolled out to the Maintenance team
  • Closely monitor line, machine performance and improve where possible
  • Overseeing of contractors on site
  • Provide general maintenance support as designated by supervisors/ manager
  • Provide the Engineering Department with the highest levels of support. Analysing plant downtime levels and implementing effective strategies to increase uptime

Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills:

  • A relevant third level qualification in Engineering or time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/Mechanical Qualification/ Mechanical Experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance role, planned and reactive maintenance skills
  • Working knowledge & experience of relevant Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
  • Understand Food Safety policies and legislation (BRC & ISO)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, as well as an analytical, decisive approach
  • Experience of a wide range of motor control systems & process temperature controls & pneumatics
  • Experience using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Experience of safety systems utilising Isolation / lock-off procedures, risk assessment and permit to work
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Strong team player with ability to work on own initiative
  • PLC/ PC Control Systems experience

This Role Involves

  • Maintain shopfloor software management system and train systems' end-users on how to use the system.
  • Performing preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair of manufacturing equipment and other specialty support equipment used in the manufacturing process.
  • Providing equipment and process support (including machine maintenance) to assembly lines.

Key Responsibilities And End Results

  • Maintain and monitor shopfloor software management system, providing trouble shooting, upgrades and testing to ensure that the systems work as expected, and train systems' end-users to properly use the system optimally.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair as instructed by manufacturer on all component feeders and other pieces of support equipment used in the Manufacturing process, i.e. torque drivers, and other equipment as assigned.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedule of supported equipment based upon production schedule.
  • Assist in the ordering, inventory and sourcing of machine repair parts.
  • Assist manufacturing engineering technicians in the production and process support of the manufacturing lines as assigned by the machine support supervisor.
  • Assist engineers in locating parts and supplies needed for emergency line maintenance.
  • Assist with the receipt or shipment of feeders and other supported equipment to include the inventory and in or out processing of equipment in the maintenance management system.
  • Assist with the crating and uncrating of equipment, line moves and the movement and installation of machinery as required.
  • Assist with the maintenance of inventory records for all manufacturing machines.
  • Log maintenance performed on machines in database.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • Other ad hoc duties may be assigned.

Essential Criteria

  • NFQ Level 6 or 7 in a Technical Discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or Biomedical). May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a MET or similar is required.
  • Understanding of Design for Maintainability (DFM), Failure Mode Effective Analysis (FMEA) is advantageous.
  • Experience of SAP or ERP or Shopfloor management system.
  • Previous experience leading projects is highly advantageous.

Skills/Atributes

  • Computer literate with intermediate / Advanced MS Office skills.

Position Summary

  • Under limited supervision designs, develops and maintains test procedures, tester hardware and software for electronic circuit board production.

Key Responsibilities And End Results
(Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to the following):

  • Supports the Test Engineer in the development and commission of test solutions executing the test qualification of the fixture and program as per the specific system qualification process.
  • Responsibility for providing the deliverables to support the solution in production to both the Test Support Function and Manufacturing Operations.
  • Assists in the build and manufacture of testers, fixtures and environmental tooling as required to meet the customer expectations.
  • The Technician Engineer provides the interface to the Test Support function providing comprehensive documentation and training for all test solutions implemented.
  • Provides the interface to the Manufacturing function providing comprehensive documentation and coordinating training and education for all test operations implemented.
  • Through working with the Test Support function monitor and contribute to the improvement of Test Yields, Efficiency, Intermittencies and Uptime providing accurate reporting and clear targets for improvement.
  • In conjunction with the Test Engineer strives to consistently upgrade the test process balancing cost, coverage with the goal of providing an optimized and cost efficient test process.
  • Works closely with manufacturing and test support to ensure prioritization of support activities. He/ She will be responsible for coordinating the timetable for test readiness based on the weekly production schedule through the appropriate Test Support staff.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to the production areas.
  • Trouble shooting of technical faults, ensuring a fast response and resolution of all issues.
  • Maintain all production test equipment in excellent working condition, ensuring consistent performance with a focus on quality, output, and yield.
  • Assist in the installation, set-up, and commissioning of new production test equipment.
  • Assist in the completion of Test Measurement equipment calibration as required
  • Provide input towards the continual improvement of the Test Engineering Department's role within the organization, as dictated by the business requirements.
  • Other ad hoc duties may be assigned.

Person Specification

  • Computer literate with intermediate / Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Strong planning & organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • A "can do" work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum level 7 qualification in electrical or electronic engineering or relevant experience.
  • BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Electronical / Electronics / Mechatronics. May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  • 1-2 years' experience working as a Test Engineering Technician or a similar in electronic manufacturing industry.
  • Strong technical writing and good documentation practice.
  • Strong analytical and PC skills.

Desired criteria

  • Experience in electronic manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in leading process improvements / lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.

The Engineering Technician is responsible for maintaining fully automated, high-volume, high speed assembly machines at optimal performance. This will be done by conducting planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive OEE and waste improvements.
  • Provide direct support to the production and maintenance teams to resolve daily issues and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to apply learnings from breakdowns and performance issues to improve the preventative maintenance practices.
  • Be the subject matter expert of the assigned machine group.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops.
  • To become involved in analyzing customer complaints and internal quality issues, and assist in drawing up improvements and preventative actions to eliminate these defects being produced.
  • Assist with training of other engineering technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required.
  • Fully participate in company-wide continuous initiatives, working in teams as required and utilizing appropriate quality tools as applicable.
  • Maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters (e.g. breakdowns, maintenance etc).
  • Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition. Correct and/or report unsafe conditions and other faults.

Educational Experience

  • BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Degree or National Craft Certificate + specialised training
  • Industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • The ability to apply a scientific approach to problem-solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Relevant PC skills
