PE Global is currently recruiting for an Engineering Technician for a leading multi-national Biotech client based in Sligo. This is an initial 12-month contract position based onsite working Shift, alternating weeks of days/evenings. Monday Friday. ROLE: To work as a team member to support engineering in pharma operations in line with all safety, regulatory and organizational requirements. Participating in design and process project conversations to ensure reliability by design is built in prior to equipment arrival. Owning and preparing, preventative and predictive maintenance for new pharma equipment being installed and approval of these procedures on Maximo. Completion and documentation of PMs and pDMs on manufacturing equipment into Maximo. Owning and ensuring that commissioning spare parts are received and cataloged in Maximo. Owning and ensuring that critical spare parts are identified and once received, cataloged in Maximo. Active Participation in Factory Acceptance testing, Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning and qualification of equipment. Review and approve process related commissioning, qualification and validation protocols for completeness and accuracy. Execute protocols in a timely basis to meet the project schedule requirements. Review and approve process flow diagrams (PFDs), specifications, layouts and P&IDs. Ensuring proactive high performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment. Liaising with operations, quality and technical operations to ensure equipment and process performance is maximized. To maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures and preventative/ demand maintenance. To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining troubleshooting and installing/commissioning equipment. Completion of instrument calibration as per schedule. Take ownership of the sites Predictive Maintenance program, through managing and developing the outsourced condition monitoring contracts, implementing recommendations, and tracking to closure. Implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement. Support the Production Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the output and yield requirements. Adhering to all relevant policies relating to Quality & Safety. Ensure successful external inspections, and Division and Corporate audits. Supervision of external contractors. REQUIREMENTS: Relevant Trade Qualification or engineering qualification to Cert level ata minimum (Diploma/Degree Preferred). Minimum of 3 years in a highly regulated manufacturing (Pharma/Biologics/Medical Device) environment required. Proven problem-solving ability on complex equipment. The Engineering Technician is responsible for maintaining fully automated, high-volume, high speed assembly machines at optimal performance. This will be done by conducting planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Identify and drive OEE and waste improvements.
+ Provide direct support to the production and maintenance teams to resolve daily issues and assist with troubleshooting.
+ Work closely with the maintenance team to apply learnings from breakdowns and performance issues to improve the preventative maintenance practices.
+ Be the subject matter expert of the assigned machine group.
+ Liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops.

+ Assist with training of other engineering technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required.

+ Maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters (e.g. breakdowns, maintenance etc).
+ Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition. Correct and/or report unsafe conditions and other faults.
**Educational experience:**
+ BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Degree or National Craft Certificate + specialised training

A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to make sure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long-term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks like painting and plumbing and will liaise with contractors if you need external expertise. You'll work on a range of shifts to make sure our sites are supported around the clock - allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology - some of which only exists at Amazon.
From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers get their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. Basic Qualifications
- Need to have NFQ6 (Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Engineering) or Solace/Solas level 6 mechanical/ Electrical or Mechatronics.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Experience fault finding within MHE (Material Handling Equipment)/Automation systems.
- Experience in interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings.

We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. A Data Center Engineering Operations Technician role is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. If you like to use apply your electrical and mechanical skills to solve problems, we'd like to meet you. Your work will help to maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.
Key job responsibilities
SAFETY
Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
- Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with health & safety regulations).
- Ability to work shifts

Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of safe electrical practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies (e.g., ECSSAI and RECI in Ireland)
- Professional Electrical or Mechanical Certification (National Craft Certificate (NCC), Registered Electrical Contractor (REC), or equivalent) or a level 6 engineering qualification
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations - they're the ones keeping vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you'll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You'll help to keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME Technicians boost the availability and quality of our equipment and work to enhance the operational environment too.
Key job responsibilities
- Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
- Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
- Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
- Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
- Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
- Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites
A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to make sure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long-term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks like painting and plumbing and will liaise with contractors if you need external expertise. You'll work on a range of shifts to make sure our sites are supported around the clock - allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology - some of which only exists at Amazon.
From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers get their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
Basic Qualifications
- Need to have NFQ6 (Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Engineering) or Solace/Solas level 6 mechanical/ Electrical or Mechatronics.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Experience fault finding within MHE (Material Handling Equipment)/Automation systems.
- Experience in interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters. Please be prepared to provide proof of qualifications obtained as part of Amazon's Terms of Employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng
- Experience of high voltage switching.
- Experience of sortation machines.
- Experience of maintaining/configuring bar code scanners.
- Experience of print and apply machines.
- Experience in fault finding on building equipment i.e HVAC, Dock Doors, plumbing and general building maintenance tasks.
