Our growing UK&I Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team is looking for a Principal Environmental Compliance & Permitting Consultant in Ireland to support the delivery of the EHS compliance and permitting business across our existing client base and new clients. The role is to participate with our team in the delivery of a broad range of EHS compliance and permitting services across many sectors including, but not limited to, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals/Biopharmaceuticals, Water, Alternative Fuels, Hi Tech, Commercial and Energy.
This role would suit a consultant with proven industry experience in environmental compliance and permitting. Experience in Industrial Emissions / Integrated Pollution Control licensing in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical sector is important. Some health and safety experience and knowledge of ISO 14001 standards would also be beneficial.
You will play a key role in supporting the growth and continued success of the Environmental compliance and permitting business in the UK and Ireland. Based within a specialist team but working as part of the wider AECOM business you would provide environmental compliance and permitting support across all industry sectors, through a combination of global framework agreements and site-specific commissions. You would support AECOM's clients from established process industries, manufacturing and power generation companies with the management of compliance requirements for current and planned activities. AECOM is also helping to shape the development of good compliance practice for the transition to a low carbon economy.
**As our EHS & Remediation team covers Ireland & UK, and as we support hybrid working we are flexible in terms of base location. This position can be based from our offices in Dublin, Cork or Belfast.**
**_Here's what you'll do:_**
**Environmental Permitting and Compliance Support**
+ Advising clients on the implications for their business of legislation, environmental regulatory guidance and Best Available Techniques (BAT) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, best practice and BAT standards. This could include undertaking licence compliance studies, liability risk assessments and BAT studies.
+ Assist clients in developing and implementing mitigation measures, management plans, and management systems. Managing and completing EHS audits including legal and operational compliance.
+ Support the preparation and submission of environmental permit/licence applications particularly in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical sector.
+ Help ensure ongoing compliance with permit/licence conditions and knowledge of ISO 14001 standards
**Regulator and Stakeholder Engagement**
+ Facilitate engagement with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
+ Assist clients in fulfilling permit/licence obligations, including reporting requirements and addressing pre-operational or improvement conditions. Examples include licence applications, licence variations and licence surrender.
**Business Development**
+ Contribute to business development efforts by building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
+ Help expand AECOM's compliance and permitting service offerings.
**Quality and Technical Assurance**
+ Conduct quality assurance and technical reviews of work completed by team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
**Mentorship and Professional Development**
+ Mentor and support the growth of junior team members and emerging professionals in the field of permitting and compliance.

**Education and Qualifications**
A base first degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or science discipline.
**Professional Experience**
Demonstrable experience in a consultancy role.
Proven track record in delivering environmental compliance and permitting services, particularly in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical sector.
Significant experience with Industrial Emissions / Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) licensing.
Demonstrable experience managing consultancy support across a range of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) compliance areas, including industrial emissions licensing and permitting, and pharmaceutical sector.

With minimal direction, coordinates the necessary programs, reports, training, audits, and systems in order to comply with all environmental and safety laws and regulations.
**How You'll Create Impact**
- Assisting with ISO14001 & ISO 45001 Management Systems and ensure that standards and procedures set within these systems are maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Quality Functions to implement best in class processes.
- Training and coaching teams on completing risk assessments.
- Conducting Risk Assessment of new processes.
- Review and improvement of Contractor Management Systems.
- Review and improvement of permit to work and lock out tag out processes.
- Review and improvement of new product introduction EHS requirements.
- Process safety review of additive manufacturing processes.
- Review and updating of EHS documentation and procedures.
- Carry out site and facility inspections and audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and work with area leaders to implement improvements.
- Lead and support initiatives to raise awareness and drive a positive culture e.g. Behavioural Based Safety.
- Complete monthly EHS corporate reports.
- Monitor and report on all waste activities such as generation, storage, inventory, transportation, and disposal.
**What Makes You Stand Out**
+ 8-10 years experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical device
+ B.S degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or equivalent
+ Ability to positively influence organizational safety culture across all levels.
+ Experience working with and/or implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
+ Experience working in additive manufacturing is an advantage.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
+ Disciplined approach to activity and self-managed
+ Skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

You will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the CommScope Global EHS Knowledge Management System, Entropy, ensuring information accuracy and timely reporting. The Junior EHS Officer will play a meaningful role in ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, promoting a safe work environment, and leading all aspects of environmental health and safety across projects.
**How You'll Help Us Connect the World:**
The responsibilities for this role involve working closely with senior management to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the company. The position requires becoming the Super User for the CommScope Entropy system and acting as the main point of contact between NSAI and all relevant departments and individuals at CommScope regarding the system.
Key duties include coordinating system upgrades, providing one-on-one training, and resolving any issues that arise. Additionally, the role involves crafting mentorship materials and coordinating tutor-led training when necessary, along with offering general support for users and sites applying the Entropy system.
Managing the EHS Global standards and corporate guidance documents within the system is essential. Supervising monthly KPI records is also a key task, ensuring their accuracy and timely reporting. The role involves being responsible for the implementation and adoption of the Entropy system at various sites, addressing any deficiencies by advising the Regional EHS Manager or taking appropriate action.
Generating EHS reports from the system as needed is part of the job. The role also supports initiatives to manage and reduce environmental risks and liabilities while working to improve the company's overall EHS performance and external reputation.
**Required Qualifications for Consideration:**
+ EH&S experience in Ireland.
+ Knowledge of statistics, data collection, analysis, and data presentation.

Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health & safety programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards. Collaborate with manufacturing staff and the wider SHE Team to promote safe manufacturing practices and proper use of containment equipment. Identify and address site SHE issues and employee concerns. Perform incident management activities, including injury management investigations and recordkeeping. Build relationships with key departments to foster support for SHE programs. Qualifications Minimum of 6+ years' professional experience required in Safety, Health and environmental programs. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in cGMP environment is essential. Knowledge and understanding of Safety, Health & Environment compliance reporting. Specific experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and operational control of cGMP activity is essential. Ability to make effective oral presentations and work as part of a team. Proficiency in organising, communication, problem solving, multitasking and collaborating with others. Be able to organize his/her own work on a routine basis with minimal supervision. Have the ability to provide updates and tracking on tasks. Have good communication skills, both verbal and written in the English Language. Be able to undertake an active role in a busy Manufacturing facility. Have strong communication skills and be able to engage with all levels of the organisation. Have a proactive attitude and the ability to take immediate ownership of safety initiatives. Manual Handling Instructor, Train the Trainer, and Occupational First Aid certifications are desirable. Support the team in EHS management and execution of new projects and programs. Provide direction and advice to site management in the area of national and EU safety legislation, relevant machinery safety standards and best available techniques. Provide EHS expertise for change management process, including review and approval of equipment and machinery modifications from EHS perspective. Provide technical safety input to the design and construction of new facilities, automation lines and process equipment. Design and implement corporate safety systems with specific emphasis on process safety management, process hazards analysis, industrial hygiene, risk assessment, accident and injury reporting, and change control. Develop and implement site occupational health programs. Lead and where required support the investigation of EHS incidents/accidents, recommend and drive corrective and preventive actions. Ensure ongoing compliance with GMP in all practices, recording of events and processes. Ensure compliance with all learnings from all GMP training events. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position. Skills/Attributes: Excellent analytical and technical writing skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
