Position Summary
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing and passionate team that is focused on being a world class Product Stewardship group within Bristol Myers Squibb's Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability Enablement organization. As a member of the Product Stewardship group, the successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the development of a company-wide approach to perform GLP environmental fate/effects studies and environmental risk assessments according to appropriate international regulatory guidelines. This role will lead and participate on diverse multi-functional teams to deliver on-time and on-budget GLP studies and environmental risk assessments necessary to support successful clinical trials and drug registrations around the world. In addition to working on environmental risk assessments, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in other aspects of the Product Stewardship program (e.g., global research projects, environmental support of sites, extended producer responsibility, chemical registrations, hazard communication). This role will also act as the primary back up for the program lead.
Key Responsibilities
The starting compensation for this job based in Massachusetts is a range from 179,220 - 217,200, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as company subject matter expert on environmental risk assessments and environmental fate/effects studies focused on global regulatory frameworks, technical knowledge and emerging scientific trends; Lead matrix teams in the preparation of environmental risk assessments to support drug product registrations and chemical registrations worldwide
- Plan, monitor and evaluate external environmental fate and effects studies conducted according to Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guidelines and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements
- Monitor and anticipate technical/regulatory developments in environmental risk assessment practices and testing approaches
- Participate on industry trade group committees assessing the environmental relevance of Pharmaceuticals in the Environment and related topics
- Provide technical environmental support for chemical regulations ( e.g. , REACH, GHS/CLP) and site emission evaluations
- Ph.D. in toxicology or related discipline preferred ( e.g. , environmental science, environmental health, environmental fate); expertise in chemical fate is a plus; DABT certification (or similar) preferred, but not required
- Minimum 10 years of risk assessment or related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech, chemical or pesticide industry; experience with genetically modified organisms is a plus
- Expertise with GLP regulations, environmental fate and effects studies and environmental risk assessment frameworks; modeling expertise is a plus
- Familiarity with chemical registration frameworks is a plus
- Demonstrated skills in the analysis of complex data and in the development of problem-solving strategies; ability to summarize complex data in a concise and audience-appropriate manner
- Passionate self-starter with the ability to lead and/or participate in diverse matrix teams in a global environment; experienced in project management and operational excellence mindset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to influence senior management, third parties, thought leaders and regulatory agencies; acts with integrity
- Ability to innovate and encourages others to do so as well. Strives to enhance performance by doing things that are unique and leading edge; experience with AI and/or automation is a plus

Our growing UK&I Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team is looking for a Principal Environmental Compliance & Permitting Consultant in Ireland to support the delivery of the EHS compliance and permitting business across our existing client base and new clients. The role is to participate with our team in the delivery of a broad range of EHS compliance and permitting services across many sectors including, but not limited to, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals/Biopharmaceuticals, Water, Alternative Fuels, Hi Tech, Commercial and Energy.
This role would suit a consultant with proven industry experience in environmental compliance and permitting. Experience in Industrial Emissions / Integrated Pollution Control licensing in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical sector is important. Some health and safety experience and knowledge of ISO 14001 standards would also be beneficial.
You will play a key role in supporting the growth and continued success of the Environmental compliance and permitting business in the UK and Ireland. Based within a specialist team but working as part of the wider AECOM business you would provide environmental compliance and permitting support across all industry sectors, through a combination of global framework agreements and site-specific commissions. You would support AECOM's clients from established process industries, manufacturing and power generation companies with the management of compliance requirements for current and planned activities. AECOM is also helping to shape the development of good compliance practice for the transition to a low carbon economy.
**As our EHS & Remediation team covers Ireland & UK, and as we support hybrid working we are flexible in terms of base location. This position can be based from our offices in Dublin, Cork or Belfast.**

**Environmental Permitting and Compliance Support**
+ Advising clients on the implications for their business of legislation, environmental regulatory guidance and Best Available Techniques (BAT) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, best practice and BAT standards. This could include undertaking licence compliance studies, liability risk assessments and BAT studies.
+ Assist clients in developing and implementing mitigation measures, management plans, and management systems. Managing and completing EHS audits including legal and operational compliance.
+ Support the preparation and submission of environmental permit/licence applications particularly in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical sector.
+ Help ensure ongoing compliance with permit/licence conditions and knowledge of ISO 14001 standards
**Regulator and Stakeholder Engagement**
+ Facilitate engagement with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
+ Assist clients in fulfilling permit/licence obligations, including reporting requirements and addressing pre-operational or improvement conditions. Examples include licence applications, licence variations and licence surrender.
**Business Development**
+ Contribute to business development efforts by building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.

Role Profile We have an exciting opportunity for anEnvironmental Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Lough Egish, Co. Monaghan on a fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager will be responsible for leading, directing and delivering all activity in relation to Environmental Health & Safety on-site. The successful candidate will ensure the development and promotion of a best-in-class EH&S culture in conjunction with the site management team and employees. This is an on-site role and is part of the site management team. Responsibilities Develop and implement the site EH&S Management strategy ensuring alignment with the central Tirln EH&S strategy and Tirln's continuous improvement agenda. Develop, manage, and lead a culture of zero harm across the site and ensure a management led approach with a focus on continuous improvement. Develop and manage the site EH&S risk assessment programme with the site management team to agree and manage prioritised programmes to reduce risks. Ensure regulatory requirements are adhered to and keep up to date with new legislation and standards. This includes maintenance of the site's Industrial Emissions (IE) licence and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) permit requirements. Managing the operation and performance of the on-site Wastewater Treatment Plant Ensure regulatory requirements are adhered to and keep up to date with new legislation and standards. Develop, deploy, and manage the site EH&S training programme ensuring statutory requirements are adhered to and taking into account best practice and site safety culture development. Lead on-site Environmental Health & Safety improvement, awareness, and engagement programmmes. Act as role model for the sites values and behaviours Coordinate the Occupational Health and Sustainability programmes for the site. Develop and manage site EH&S KPIs and ensure Tirln KPI reporting requirements are adhered to. Provide support to Production Manager to maximise EH&S KPIs in line with overall Production targets Represent the company in interactions with external agencies/ stakeholders e.g. HSA, Monaghan County Council, Complainants, insurers etc. Co-ordinate internal and external inspections and audit programmes and Lead & drive adherence to external system accreditation i.e., ISO 14001, Tirln Risk Management Safety Lead on site EH&S improvement, awareness, and engagement programmes. Lead investigations of accidents/incidents on-site. Requirements Third level qualification in Health & Safety, Food, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline 3-5 years experience in an Health and Safety role in the dairy, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, preferably including experience in a management capacity Experience in wastewater treatment plant operation Knowledge of EU ETS and GHG permitting a distinct advantage Results driven with high performance capability in a fast moving challenging business environment. Excellent leadership and communication skills with an innate ability to bring people with them. Proven track record of continuous improvement within a lean manufacturing environment. Environmental Health and Safety Lead In this key role you will support the EHS Manager in delivering all aspects of EHS in a food manufacturing site. Leading day-to-day management of EHS operations & manage two other individuals. You will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, overseeing a proactive safety culture, & supporting CI to protect people, property, & the environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day operations of the EHS department, including in absence of the EHS Manager Regularly review & update risk assessments, safe operating procedures, work instructions, & site's safety statement Monitor & analyse incident reports & safety metrics; ensure daily performance statistics are compiled & presented to the operations team Oversee prompt investigation & documentation of accidents, incidents, & near misses. Support managers in developing & implementing corrective actions Manage the internal audit program; conduct safety inspections, generate reports, & coordinate with department representatives to ensure timely close-out of findings Proactively identify opportunities for safety performance improvement & support the development of site-wide EHS initiatives in collaboration with the EHS Manager Support preparation & readiness for external regulatory & compliance audits Co-ordinate safety-related training, ensuring all mandatory & ongoing training needs are met on schedule. Maintain & update the training matrix Create & deliver EHS communications, including toolbox talks & safety alerts, to reinforce a strong safety culture across the site Manage site emergency preparedness programs, including fire & chemical safety, & workplace vehicle protocols Oversee contractor safety in partnership with the engineering dept; deliver contractor training, reviewing documentation, & conduct audits of contractor activities Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Essential Skills: - Excellent communication skills both oral and written - clearly explain safety procedures across all levels of the organisation Experience managing a team. Able to hit the ground running. Level 8 qualification in H&S or a related discipline. 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing or high-risk environment Manual Handling Instructor certification Train the Trainer qualification Occupational First Aid certification Good attention to detail, with excellent administrative, reporting, & literacy skills Proficient in Microsoft Office & EHS-related software platforms Self-motivated, capable of working independently & as part of a cross-functional team Be able to undertake some travel.
