Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant

Responsibilities:

  • You will helping gather and validate information used in the
    Planning Permission process
    :
  • Lead the (EIA) process for Renewable Energy projects, including (EIAR) & (AA/NIS).
  • Provide environmental expertise to
    support the Planning Team
    & inform business strategy, ensuring compliance with planning and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • Hons Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Postgraduate a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience leading EIAR & AA/NIS
    planning preparation
    for large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of the
    EIA process & Irish planning policy/legislation is essential
  • Experience in r
    enewables or related infrastructure projects
    is desirable; technical expertise in disciplines like ecology, noise, or air quality is a plus .
  • Experience with
    planning projects
    of varying priorities, risk profiles, & timelines is beneficial.

  • Delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports
  • Taking ownership of projects from inception to completion and providing regular project updates to the environment team director and clients;
  • Project Lead on EIA projects involving multidisciplinary teams;
  • Technical lead in a discipline as related to EIA an advantage e.g. ecology, noise or air quality;
  • Preparing planning applications, licences, permits and annual environmental reports e.g. waste licences;
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment in Ireland including planning and permitting/licensing requirements;
  • Prioritising projects while balancing client expectations, available staff resources and project deadlines;
  • Proposal preparation, and identifying follow on work opportunities with existing clients and work to develop opportunities broadening Golder's client base;

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management and coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments, Appropriate Assessments, Planning Applications and other Environmental Reports

  • Provide expert technical assistance to the Consultancy department
  • Liaising with clients, managing their projects and promoting our services
  • Technical report writing

Requirements:

  • Hold a B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph. D in a relevant environmental discipline

  • Essential to have demonstrable experience in a similar role, fulfilling comparable duties and responsibilities as those mentioned above
  • Knowledge of environmental, planning and waste management legislation
  • Experience in EIA, and Appropriate Assessment is essential while experience in other environmental disciplines is desirable
