BnM is seeking an Environmental, Health

& Safety (EHS) Manager to lead the development and implementation of our

EHS strategy and management systems across all operations. This role will

ensure compliance with all legislative, licencing, and certification

requirements, while driving a culture of continuous improvement and safety. The

successful candidate will engage with key internal and external stakeholders,

monitor EHS performance, and lead initiatives to manage risk, prevent

recurrence of non-conformities, and support the safe and sustainable growth of

the business.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Develop and manage the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategy to ensure alignment with BnM activities and compliance with EHS responsibilities, in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Implement and maintain systems to support adherence to statutory requirements and environmental licensing obligations. Provide ongoing support for EHS compliance and licensing requirements associated with the delivery of the BnM renewable energy pipeline. Provide H&S support to the Recycling business throughout the disposal and transition process.
  • Manage robust systems to support the development, maintenance, and delivery of key EHS reports and primary EHS management documentation, including Safety Statements, compliance performance reviews (e.g., investigations, legal updates, inspections), accident investigations, non-conformity management, risk assessments, and environmental compliance reports. Oversee systems to verify the effective implementation of and adherence to EHS policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the provision of appropriate technical support to operations management across BnM assets e.g. EPL/CPL, the Cloncreen Ash Site, Drehid landfill, IPPC Licenced locations/ sites for key services such as effluent monitoring and treatment, sustainability compliance, and leachate/ discharge management, Silt Ponds in order to meet all relevant reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the BnM EHS Management Systems are maintained to recognised standards, co-ordinating interfaces with relevant suppliers, regulatory authorities (EPA, HSA) and accreditation bodies e.g. NSAI, INAB. As member of the Asset Management and Trading team, support the delivery of overall business outcomes. Lead the reporting and engagement with the Senior Leadership team and Board Health & Safety committee relating to outcomes and system improvement initiatives.
  • Support programs and initiatives aimed at fostering and sustaining a positive safety culture across the organisation. Ensure effective communication systems are in place to maintain, enhance, and continuously improve the EHS Management System, promoting accountability and ownership among all colleagues.
  • Establish and implement an effective team structure, leading a group of skilled EHS professionals to deliver the full scope of services and reporting required by the business. Ensure ongoing team development and succession planning to maintain robust capabilities in response to an evolving EHS regulatory environment. Proactively leverage the Performance Management process to support strategic resource planning and ensure optimal team performance and readiness.
  • All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health, Safety and Welfare of themselves, fellow employees and members of the public. Identify, understand and apply all Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements as a fundamental element of any construction design or undertaking ensuring safety of employees and members of the public during construction, testing, commissioning and operation.
  • As a key member of the Senior Management team, proactively use the Performance Management process as a means to support resource planning within your team and the wider organisation.


The Person

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Minimum Level 8 Qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental or equivalent discipline. Membership of IOSH.
  • 8-10 years at senior management level in H&S or Environmental with proven experience influencing senior and line management in relation to EHS Compliance.
  • Familiarity with EHS compliance associated with development and operational management of large-scale energy infrastructure assets.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, inspire a culture of safety, and manage change effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex EHS concepts to a wide audience, including senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and operational teams.
  • Capable of identifying long-term EHS risks and opportunities, with a solutions-focused approach to driving continuous improvement and compliance.

**Essential Responsibilities**

+ Provide guidance and interpretation of EHS regulations and requirements affecting site to management team and team members.
+ Partner with teams to manage site EHS compliance activities (inspections, training, monitoring, sampling, etc.)
+ Drive EHS compliance through audits, process / equipment reviews and site inspections
+ Lead site risk reduction and environmental Improvement activities
+ Manage site EHS training program and EHS budgets
+ Complete all site regulatory monitoring (Annual environmental reports, Emissions calculations) and work closely with site customer to ensure timely submittal of reports
+ Lead site injury and illness prevention program. Lead incident / accident investigations and develop corrective & preventive action plans
+ Work cooperatively with wider GE Vernova EHS resources on business projects and initiatives
+ Manage IEL Licence/Greenhouse gas emissions licence and reporting requirements.
**Qualifications / Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
+ Proven EHS experience in a similar regulated industry or engineering environment.
+ Power Plant or industry experience or similar is a benefit.
**Desired Characteristics**
+ Knowledge EPA and Irish specific regulations, with demonstrated experience in Air, Water, and Waste permits, hazardous waste, and other environmental programs.
+ Directly interacting with regulatory inspectors (HSA, EPA, COMAH etc.)

As an EHS Campus Manager the work you do will drive the prevention of incidents and illnesses through the implementation of high-risk-activity management processes, emergency response planning, and safety protocols in datacenter operations. You will work to ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is achieved by identifying risks and unsafe practices, implementing controls to mitigate risk, monitoring performance, and compliance with Microsoft standards and applicable regulations. Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As an EHS Campus Manager you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. + Serving as the primary contact for the implementation of the EHS programs for specific Microsoft Datacenters within Region.
+ Being accountable for EHS performance metrics and implementation of annual improvement plans.
+ Periodically inspecting, auditing, and reviewing safe work practices to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
+ Conduct workplace risk/exposure assessments for various classes of hazards.
+ Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis, so that corrective and preventive actions can be identified, communicated globally, and implemented.
+ Conducting/delivering regulatory training programs to meet EHS requirements.

**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Safety and Health Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, related field AND 4+ years experience in Environmental Health and Safety Worldwide Regulations
+ OR equivalent experience.
**Background Check Requirements:**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field AND 8+ years Environmental Health and Safety Worldwide Regulations experience

The Role Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Lead/Supervisor will support daily operations of the EHS department, lead safety initiatives, and ensure the site meets regulatory and internal safety standards. This is a visible, cross-functional role with responsibility for audits, training, communications, and incident management. Key responsibilities include: Leading day-to-day operations of the EHS function and deputising for the EHS Manager.
