Lead Production Operator Our client is a world leader in diagnostics for clinical healthcare, toxicology and food security and they are looking to add a Lead Production Operator to join their Manufacturing department in Dungloe, County Donegal. What does the Biochip team do? The Biochip team manufacture products for use across the Biochip Array Technology Analysers. Our clients cutting-edge technology is used in Laboratories and Hospitals to diagnose health tests as wells as veterinary samples, and food testing. Location: Dungloe, County Donegal. Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent. Working Hours / Shifts: 4 days week. 7am-5:40pm. Monday to Thursday. What does the Lead Production Operator role involve? The role of Lead Production Operator will be working on the production of the Biochip Array products. A varied role with preparation of buffers, operation of automated equipment and use of vision QC spotting process and live monitoring of spotting equipment. Key duties: - The Lead Production Operator will be an advanced operator in carrying out all tasks associated with the Production Operator role and will be deemed highly competent in carrying out aspects of Production procedures, specialising in either: Spotting, Assembly, Buffer Formulation or a combination of the three. - The Lead Production Operator will be directed by, and report to - the Production Team Leader or Production Supervisor on daily tasks. (Refer to: Teo Biochip manufacturing organisational chart). - The Lead Production Operator will act as a reference point for Production Operators and Trainee Operators and will also be involved in the training of staff in Biochip/Assembly/Buffer Preparation processes. - The Lead Production Operator will be trained in the majority of aspects related to Biochip Formulation, and in the event of Team Leader absence, will be capable of acting as the Production Team Leader. - They will have added responsibility in the monitoring of critical aspects relating to the continued operation of the cleanroom areas, including: - Stock control/generation of purchase requisitions. - Ensuring productivity logs are maintained. - Trouble shooting and conveying pertinent issues to senior staff. Essential criteria: - Be qualified to GCSE level or have previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment. - Experience of working within a Clean room environment. - Computer literate and be confident in the use and application of Microsoft Office packages. - Good team working skills. - Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal). - Possess good organisational skills. - Have the right to work in ROI. The Technician, Production Operations position (G3 Swing Shift) is responsible for setting up and operating automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.

Role Specific:
· Operate equipment when training has been completed.
· Maintain equipment in a condition necessary to operate at its optimum.
· Comply with cleaning procedure for equipment and machinery.
· Fill and/or label products as per Training plan.
· Pack and label Kits.
· Prepare of packing components for Kits.
· Kit/Vial Inspection as required.
General:
· Ensure that all Operations are performed to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality System Regulations.
· Comply and co-operate with any changes to processes, machinery layout, production techniques, new equipment and processes.
· Maintain neat and accurate records, logs and documents as required.
· Understand and follow through on all relevant procedures and ensure compliance.
· Comply with Set Housekeeping rules within the Department.
· Comply with the Dress Code Regulations.
· Comply with all Environmental and Health and Safety regulations.
· Train other Personnel in any aspect of Job Function as required.
The essential requirements of the job include:
· Leaving Certificate or equivalent
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
· Working in a Manufacturing Operations role as part of a team using problem solving tools in a manufacturing work environment
· Knowledge and experience of GMP in a highly regulated manufacturing work environment.

**Ensure that all batch packaging records are completed accurately in a timely manner.**
**Ensure that quantities of good & rejects are accurately recorded.**
**Ensure excellence in Housekeeping and that cleaning logbooks, LUMAC logs and other production-floor logs are completed and kept up to date.**
**Work positively with all Team Leaders, Engineers and Packaging Manager at all times.**
**Ensure safe work practices are being followed at all times and report any defects immediately to the Safety Officer / Packaging Manager.**
**This role demands flexibility to changes in shift patterns at short notice.**
**Carry out various other additional tasks that may be required from time to time in accordance with the overall goal of the company.**

**Position overview:**
As the Mechanical Operative youre a key member of the wider Waterford Engineering Team that plays a critical part in supporting the plant's overall business plans and objectives.
Please note this position requires working in a shift pattern.
**Your key responsibilities include:**
+ Operate, repair and maintain end making systems and supporting systems. Carry out al quality checks to the required frequency using the required supporting systems.
+ Assist on Production problems to resolve downtime (MTBF).
+ Assist Lead Engineers, Toolmakers, Electricians, and fitters, Engineering and Technical problems in order to resolve downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
+ To promote quality improvement and preventative actions by involvement in continuous improvement (CI Cards & Shingo) activities to meet the key performance objectives and targets.
+ Carry out a series of daily/weekly/monthly checks on tooling, product and equipment to maintain equipment to a high standard, and maintain proper specification.
+ Highlight potential problems on equipment to supervision.
+ Provide training to trainee operators in order to resolve downtime on all equipment.
+ Assist engineering during a mechanical or tooling breakdown, and during maintenance.
+ Perform tool maintenance and corrections to tooling in order to hold the product within specification, with guidance from engineering if required.
+ Keep production and other records as requested by supervisor.
+ Work within plant safety rules and operators safety manuals, and also ensure that plant is kept clean and tidy with no ends on floor. Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping awareness is continuously improved in the designated work area and throughout the team. Reinforce Clean as you go policy and company recycling initiatives and 5S.
+ Maintain company tools in good order and condition.
+ Cover on meal break and other breaks if required by supervision.
**Experience and skills required:**
+ An interest in and an aptitude for mechanics.
+ Sound communication skills, ability to clearly explain processes.
+ Fluency in written and spoken English.
