Position Description ESB Telecoms Ltd. (ESBT), a wholly owned subsidiary of ESB, develops, operates and maintains a national telecommunications infrastructure and is an independent wholesale provider of telecommunications services in the Irish market. The network comprises of an Optical Fibre Transport Layer and Tower infrastructure linking sites in many of Ireland's major cities and towns. The Design Engineer will be a member of the Engineering Team in the Active Equipment (AE) Group in ESBT and will report to the AE Engineering Team Leader. They will be responsible for the ongoing engineering requirements to design and develop ESBT's telecoms network. Key Responsibilities Design and development of the telecom's transmission network, including solutions for new products and services as identified by ESBT's Business Development Team. Developing technology roadmaps, including technology trials and proofs of concepts for telecommunications solutions. Completion and evaluation of tendersfor the procurement of telecoms equipment and services, including writing vendor approval papers.
