- Proven track record of leading enterprise data initiatives, with a strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data modelling, and data warehousing.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary
Senior Manager of Data Engineering
to join our regional Data Engineering Chapter leadership team. This strategic role will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions that power our most critical business initiatives—from foundational data management and analytics to innovative decision science and GenAI enablement, primarily focused on the Supply Chain Innovative Medicine portfolio.
As a key partner to both Regional and Global Data Engineering Service Owners and Business partners, you will drive operational excellence across data engineering services, ensure alignment with enterprise-wide technology strategies, and cultivate a high-performing, innovation-led team culture. This role demands a rare blend of technical depth, strategic foresight, and servant leadership, further developing Service Industrialization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Drive the strategic direction and delivery of core data engineering services across the regional platform.
- Collaborate with Business Technology and functional partners to shape future demand and define investment priorities.
- Lead multi-functional planning and delivery using modern, stable team constructs to enhance resource utilization and team performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the data engineering team.
- Represent the organization at industry events to showcase thought leadership and keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends.
Architecture & Infrastructure
- Define and implement the technical architecture for enterprise-grade data platforms (SC IM STRATA, OWL, GoldenBatch), aligned with strategic business outcomes and data governance standard methodologies.
- Ensure the design and development of robust, scalable data pipelines, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions.
- Champion a "quality-first" approach, incorporating practices like test automation development, automated testing, and zero-defect delivery.
- Responsible for infrastructure decisions to ensure performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
People & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers through effective goal setting, performance management, and career development planning.
- Create an environment of continuous learning, emphasizing technical depth, compliance, and collaboration.
- Conduct talent reviews and succession planning to ensure long-term capability development.
Operational Delivery
- Deliver complex, critical data applications and services using best-in-class software and data engineering practices.
