Wholesale Division
The Wholesale Division within ComReg works to progress competition in electronic communications markets. Specifically, it analyses markets, introduces regulation with a view to improving levels of competition and reducing barriers to entry, and monitors compliance with market regulation.
The role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Legal Advisor who will report to the Head of Legal of ComReg's Wholesale Division. The Senior Legal Advisor will work within a multi-disciplinary divisional team, which includes industry experts, engineers, economists, accountants, data analysts and lawyers.
The person will be involved in the design and enforcement of economic regulation of digital networks arising, in particular, under the European electronic communications regulatory framework and competition law; they provide legal advice in respect of a range of regulatory and public law matters, of substantive or procedural nature, manage statutory appeals and other High Court actions. They have a key role in advising on and assisting with regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings.
The Wholesale Legal team works on a collaborative basis and the Senior Legal Advisor have the opportunity to be directly involved in a broad range of high-profile and interesting work and have direct engagement with decision makers. About the role

About you
We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:
Qualified Solicitor in Ireland with 1–3 years post-qualification experience.
Working knowledge of key legislative/regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to MiFID, the Consumer Protection Code, the Investment Intermediaries Act, the GDPR and the Data Protection Acts.
- Experience in corporate law, GDPR, litigation, and regulatory compliance preferred.
