**What you'll achieve**
We are looking for an experienced Privacy legal professional who can act as Privacy Legal Counsel in the EU region and be a strategic partner in leading privacy compliance efforts for the company. **You will:**
+ Provide expertise and privacy legal advice on issues that arise in the European Union, including: regulator inquiries, complaints, investigations, incidents, queries; data subject rights and requests; relevant contract negotiations; and the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other regulatory requirements to Dell's business.
+ Coordinate global privacy advice for one or more Business Units, ensuring an aligned approach from the Privacy Legal team.
+ Proactively monitor and provide advice and guidance on the assessment and implementation of evolving global privacy risks and privacy regulations, and collaborate with legal, privacy and business colleagues on the application and implementation of international privacy laws to Dell's business including leading key privacy priorities and projects.
+ Provide strategic vision, guidance and leadership on the company's privacy strategy and compliance, including but not limited to, assessment of key regulatory risks and implementation of mitigation best practices, collaboration with regional counsel on privacy-related issues, advising on evolving international privacy laws and regulatory positions, guidance and oversight of training and communication to raise awareness on privacy obligations and responsibilities enterprise-wide, advice and guidance on privacy-related contractual matters, and management of privacy notices, statements and communications.

**Essential Requirements**
+ 8+ years' legal experience, with at least 3+ years' expertise with global privacy laws or privacy laws in EEA Countries.
+ Relevant degree with experience as a qualified lawyer.
+ Deep experience in the application of the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other privacy regulations applicable to a global company, providing advisory support in regulatory matters and incident management, and providing strategic legal support and direction to ensure privacy regulatory compliance readiness by an organization on emerging privacy laws and regulations
+ Personal skills: integrity, initiative, organization, perseverance, discretion, ability to assert yourself in difficult circumstances, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, ability to build working relationships and ability to influence

An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel position on the Glanbia Group Legal team based in Citywest, Dublin or Kilkenny City reporting to the General Counsel. You will work closely with the business to reduce legal risks and improve commercial position through negotiation of legal agreements, managing legal disputes and advising on compliance with legal requirements.
This is a permanent opportunity reporting into the General Counsel.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic legal advice and commercial guidance on a broad range of legal and contractual issues in a dynamic international environment
- Review, draft and negotiate strategic legal agreements (including for the manufacture, development, supply, and distribution of products, vendor contracts for procurement and outsourcing of services and IT solutions). Advise on enforcement of contractual terms around termination, exclusivity, restrictive covenants and potential warranty / indemnity claims
- Identify risks and provide practical legal advice on a broad range of areas including data protection/privacy, intellectual property, competition law, anti-money laundering and some employment / HR related matters
- Manage and oversee any legal disputes, litigation, working closely with external legal counsel as necessary
- Assist in managing the Group's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and patents. Advise on ownership, use and potential infringement activities
- Participate in corporate M&A work including legal due diligence, drafting and negotiating purchase contracts, advising on integration issues post completion
- Advise on legal aspects of on-going Project Work relating to business integration, rationalisation and optimisation
- Assist with on-going updates to Glanbia company policies and provide training to internal business units
- Law or Business Degree with a Professional Legal Qualification (Solicitor or international equivalent)
- 5 years PQE either in a large / mid tier firm or in-house in a multi-national business
- Have strong drafting, negotiating and communication skills
- Have solid experience in commercial law gained in a fast paced dynamic environment, previous experience in a multinational corporation would be an advantage
- Commercial Litigation experience is desirable
- Intellectual Property experience is also desirable
- Be able to work on own initiative and be motivated to deliver the legal department's value added agenda
- Be able to multi-task and use a systematic and analytical approach to identifying issues and problem solving with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

- Have a minimum of 5 years qualification in private practice/in-house.
- Strong knowledge/working experience of Irish property law (in particular landlord and tenant law) and conveyancing procedures.
- Experience or exposure to construction and commercial law.
- Experience working in-house or with corporate clients is an advantage.
- Have a strong skillset which includes: project management, communication, presentation, engagement, drafting, negotiation, time management and influencing skills, strong stakeholder management and being solution driven.
- Good general IT skills with an ability to manage data rooms and familiarity with AI tools an advantage.
