**Key Areas of Responsibility**
Responsible for providing maintenance & technical support to the manufacturing line(s) / shift(s) to which they are assigned. + Provide level 1 support of business systems issue resolution. Liaise with the IS service desk / Applications Support Team / supervisor and respond to queries in a timely manner to ensure conformance.
+ Assist / provide input in the development of hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting guidelines. Liaise with production department engineers and other support personnel and groups to identify and solve problems.
+ Participate in tiered daily improvement process and update/inform appropriately in relation to equipment/technical issues.
+ Assist with the drive for 'Cost Reduction Initiatives' across the site from providing ideas though to implementation. This should also include Energy Saving Opportunities (ESOs)
+ Ensure any training is completed within the agreed timeframe
+ Report of any accident, incidents and out of place findings. Maintain the workshop and maintenance stores areas in a tidy condition at all times.
+ Take on adhoc projects from time to time as deeded necessary by Supervisor or representative
**Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills**
+ Certificate /Diploma or Senior Trades in Electrical / Mechanical / Automation / Manufacturing is required
+ 2+ years' experience working in a regulated environment and/or experience in maintenance or engineering required.
+ Experience in the following areas, - Hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC's, Automation highly advantageous.
+ Formal training / certification in any of the above also advantageous
+ Understand specification & schematic drawings, interpret equipment manuals and working from same
+ Strong numerical, investigative & problem solving skills
+ Ability to source materials and generate quotations as required

As the Maintenance Technician, you will support the Maintenance Manager to maintain a state-of-the-art automated plant. You will be required to complete corrective and preventative maintenance to maintain core and non-core plant equipment to the highest standard, therefore a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude will be paramount.

+ Ensure compliance with all HSE and Food Safety & Quality legal and regulatory requirements and associated policies, standards, procedures and forms of the Company within the operations environmentLead preventative maintenance of site equipment to improve equipment efficiency and reduce machine downtime.
+ Respond to corrective and emergency breakdowns to improve up-times on equipment, while maintaining GMP standards.
+ Assist in developing the TPM and PM process to cover all core / non-core equipment for the manufacturing facility.

Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join an expanding Maintenance Team in Westmeath. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern plant facilities and services (compressed air, refrigeration, steam) while supporting production in achieving top performance. What Youll Be Doing As part of the Maintenance Team, youll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of equipment, tackling both electrical and mechanical challenges, and driving continuous improvements in plant reliability. Maintenance & Monitoring Carrying out routine checks and monitoring plant/equipment performance. Completing planned mechanical & electrical maintenance using CMMS. Calibrating and testing alarms, instrumentation, and plant systems. Troubleshooting & Repairs Responding quickly to plant/equipment failures and recording resolutions. Diagnosing and solving mechanical, electrical, and process issues. Repairing electrical installations, including panel fault finding and VSD replacement. Support & Collaboration Working closely with sub-contractors to complete tasks safely and on time. Partnering with production to ensure equipment supports performance targets. Making suggestions to improve plant reliability and efficiency. Safety & Compliance Managing permits to work (LOTO, hot works, general permits). Using remote monitoring tools such as BMS to check plant condition. Ensuring all work follows safety procedures and quality standards. Other Key Duties Coordinating plant shutdowns with management. Managing spares to ensure reliability of operations. Providing out-of-hours support on a rotational basis. Supporting general plant, services, and WWTP maintenance. Qualifications & Experience: Mechanical qualification (electrical/instrumentation experience highly desirable). Multi-skilled / cross-skilled mindset. Previous experience in facilities or high-volume manufacturing maintenance. Ability to read electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic drawings. Familiarity with technically challenging applications is an advantage. Strong track record of interacting with suppliers, internal teams, and contractors. Why Join Us?
