St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968 the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. The Foundation presently provides early intervention, preschool, school, adult day services, residential, respite care, elder care and home support in the North Cork and Southwest Limerick region. We have day services in Charleville and Liskennett with residential services in Co Limerick: Ballylanders, Croom, Ballyagran, Bruree, Kilmallock, Dromcollogher and in Co Cork: Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant and Newmarket.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement a preschool programme as required i.e. set up art/sensory activities, run a music circle etc.
To be a key contact for a set number of families
To facilitate the completion of application for services i.e. equipment, DCA, Home support/Respite
Support families to implement therapeutic Programmes at home and in the community.
To attend meetings and work as part of the interdisciplinary team.
To make a positive contribution in the establishment and monitoring of IFSPs.
To document all interactions with family on online files.
Recognise and report problems, physical/social/emotional and assist in the implementation relevant programmes to counteract same.
To provide support for children in community/leisure activities.
Visit preschools to support the child's participation and complete observations
CoFacilitate training groups for toileting/sleep
Organise coffee mornings for parents
Facilitate at workshops for children ie Sibshops.
To promote a positive and dignified awareness of learning disability in the community.
To contribute to the instruction of new staff and volunteers.
To adhere to health and safety requirements within the unit.
Make oneself aware of the Foundation's duties and the employee duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at work Act 2005.
Report any faulty equipment/fitting
Ensure that all accidents (no matter how small) are reported and documented on epic and reported to the CDNM
Ensure adequate reports are kept as requested.
To attend courses as requested by your Supervisor
Maintain a high standard of orderliness, cleanliness and tidiness within the premises so that the working environment is pleasant and comfortable for all.

The Northstar Family Support Project is a community-based organisation providing non-judgemental, compassionate support to families who are impacted by, and trying to cope with, a family member's drug or alcohol use.
Overall purpose of the Role:

Hours of Work
