Responsibilities:
- Become proficient in using PDF's cutting-edge eProbe
- Perform startup activity with limited support from HQ.

- Maintain local parts inventory and order replacement parts.
- Actively respond to tool issues by communicating with HQ engineers and participate in escalation conference calls.
- Verify operational quality of the tool after scheduled preventive maintenance is complete.
- Install and/or relocate equipment and conduct associated start-up of newly installed systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate the root cause and correct the issue.
- Prepare and maintain accurate logs, service records, part usage documentation, and other management reports.

- Respond to emergency calls as required in the fab.

Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering, Science (electrical or mechanical) or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.
- Must have hands-on experience working with vacuum systems (turbo molecular pumps, ion pumps, roughing pumps), specifically in the high and ultra-high vacuum region.
- Experience with scanning electron microscopes, SEMs, preferred but not a requirement.
- Must have experience as a Field Service Engineer working with, installing or servicing 300mm capital equipment.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Site Services Manager, Field Service Engineers will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing, and servicing of Low Voltage (LV) switchgear and associated control equipment at customer sites throughout Ireland, Europe and the Middle East. The role involves working both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient commissioning and service support to customers.
The position requires flexibility to travel extensively, sometimes at short notice and during weekends, and to work extended hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning
- Carry out the installation, testing, and commissioning of LV switchgear panels, Power Distribution Centres (PDCs), and control assemblies in accordance with company standards and client specifications.
- Perform pre-commissioning inspections and system functional tests to verify electrical integrity and operational performance.
- Fault find and problem solve issues during commissioning, providing clear feedback and solutions to the engineering and project teams.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant standards and internal quality and safety procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete all site documentation using the Site Services Management System (SSMS), including commissioning reports, permits, site attendance logs, and inspection records.
- Maintain accurate Health & Safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
- Report all quality issues, non-conformances, and faults through the SSMS to ensure continuous improvement.
- Attend on-site meetings and whiteboard briefings, communicating effectively with project managers, clients, and other contractors.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with on-site Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture on-site, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Carry out dynamic risk assessments when conditions change or unexpected hazards arise.
Teamwork & Leadership
- Work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to achieve project goals.
- Provide mentoring and support to newly recruited engineers and apprentices.

What is the role about?
The Field Service Engineer supports the service element of the Endress+Hauser offering by carrying out service activities on site in a manner that delivers efficient and effective outcomes for the customer and maintains a strong customer focus. Which tasks will you perform?

- Proactively identify and communicate customer feedback in relation to sales, service and training opportunities back to your line manager using the software tool provided.
What do we expect from you?
- Degree, Diploma or time served in the field of Process Instrumentation & Control or in an associated technical background.
- Relevant experience in industrial measurement in Life Science / Pharma, Food & Beverage or Water / Waste Water Industries.
- Experience as a Service Technician / Engineer in a process instrumentation / control environment with a particular emphasis on commissioning / startup and troubleshooting would be viewed as a major asset.
- Full, clean, driving license.
- Good working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook. Training will be provided on any additional internal software deployed as part of the role.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout Ireland.
