Financial Specialist I

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Specialist based in Cork within our Source-to-Settle (STS) invoice operations team.

• Build relationships with key points of contact within both GFS & with internal business partners.

• Maintain regular review of Potential duplicate payment report Listing and ensure all items are addressed & properly closed.
• Manage the Admin Approval process within North America invoice operations.
• Perform month-end STS balance sheet reconciliations for in-scope entities within Corporate timelines.
• Monitor Intercompany Payables processing and follow-up on unusual items.
• Support discrete payment processes and advance payments.
• Daily duplicate report oversight and monitoring, and resolution of issues.
• Maintain process integrity, internal and SOX controls, and ensure compliance with the Controller's Manual and all applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage the processing of critical PO and NON-PO invoices for specific vendors as required.
• Support the co-ordination of the external SOX audit process from a STS perspective.
• Participate in ongoing and new process improvement projects with wider STS team and continually look for areas of improvement.
• Meet individual objectives and contribute to the achievement of the teams' overall objectives ensuring daily targets are met.

• Training and development objectives are met & ability to cover other team members as outlined by team manager.

• Contribute to the development of the Global Financial Solutions culture to attain desired goals which will include efficiency and effectiveness targets.

What you will do

This role will be based within the Finance team of the Shared Services Centre, reporting to the Financial Controller. The role holder will be responsible for the general accounting on a day-to-day basis e.g. UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP reporting for certain legal entities. They will also be responsible for updating, reviewing, and reconciling the general ledger and the review and analysis of the results of those entities. The role holder will ensure that intercompany and third-party invoicing is completed in a timely manner and monitor the collection of receipts.

The role holder is also responsible for the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and will be a key participant in the annual audit process and assist with internal audit related matters for those entities as needed. They will also assist with the timely preparation of board reporting, ensuring that the data is complete, accurate and clearly analysed for the readers of the reports. The role holder will assist with the development of accounting policies, procedures and guidance and will help ensure the overall control framework is maintained.

• Experience of reporting under UK GAAP, IFRS, including knowledge of IFRS16, IFRS 15 and IFRS 9 and simplified IFRS.

• Experience of preparing Financial Statements under IFRS, FRS101 and FRS 102, including interpretation and implementation of new standards and consolidation of accounts.

The Financial Reporting Specialist will be responsible for the preparation and review of the Financial Statements and co-ordination of the overall financial reporting process for investment funds and companies, ranging across various domiciles, jurisdictions and financial reporting standards. Key Responsibilities

• Budgeting & Forecasting – Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across business units.
• Financial Modelling – Build and maintain robust financial models and perform variance analysis.
• Reporting & Analysis – Develop dashboard reporting for leadership, support scenario planning, and conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Presentation & Influence – Prepare and present financial insights to the Senior Leadership Group, influencing decision-making through clear, data-driven recommendations.

You Will Have

• A relevant third-level qualification in economics, business, finance or related discipline (professional accounting qualification is an advantage).
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, ideally within professional services and across multiple departments.
• Strong attention to detail and technical knowledge with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights, proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
