Job Title: Material Handling Store Person
Overview
We are seeking a responsible and experienced Material Handling Store Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in warehouse operations and be comfortable working in a fast–paced environment. Forklift training and certification will be provided for the successful candidate; however, holding a valid forklift licence in advance will be considered a strong advantage.
In this role, you will carry out a variety of warehouse duties, including stock management, order picking, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Processing Goods: Accept deliveries, verify contents, and process items for storage.
- Storing & Organising: Safely store goods in designated locations to optimise space and maintain order.
- Picking & Packing: Retrieve ordered items and prepare them for dispatch accurately and efficiently.
- Stock Management: Conduct stock counts, rotate inventory, and report discrepancies to management.
- Shipping & Dispatch: Load and unload materials from trailers and prepare products for delivery to customers.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous warehouse or stores experience preferred.
- Forklift Training: Training and certification will be provided. Candidates with an existing valid forklift licence will have an advantage.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and complete tasks to a high standard.
- Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting heavy items and carrying out manual handling tasks as required.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols, with a strong focus on safe working practices.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the safety of yourself and others in the immediate work environment through the adherence to safe working practices always, and checking there are no persons in the immediate vicinity while operating any mechanically operated vehicles

- Completion of a risk assessment of each load prior to commencement of loading /offloading & communicating any risks thereon
- Displaying and promoting a positive work environment through effectively supporting work colleagues in the completion of all duties as directed
- Reporting on any load deviations inclusive of damages, shortages & overages in the manner prescribed
- Completion of work activities as directed inclusive of order selection, packing, checking, loading, unloading, scanning, and paperwork as efficiently as practical while ensuring you do so in a safe & careful manner
- Advising immediately on any persons within the vicinity of your working area who are not conforming to the H & S requirements inclusive of PPE and ensuring that there are no unaccompanied personnel within the warehouse and your immediate work area.
- Completion and adherence to all training as directed
- Ensuring full conformance with all Policies and Procedures as outlined within the Employee Handbook
About you:
- Experience in loading / unloading vehicles and operating within busy warehouse storage facility.
- Minimum of two years' Counterbalance and Reach Truck experience and licencing
- Accident-free record for past 2 years

- Positive "can do" attitude & ability to work as part of a team

Desirable Criteria:

Working Hours:
The role operates on a rotating shift pattern. You will work Monday to Friday on an alternating cycle:
- Week 1: 6am - 2pm
- Week 2: 2pm - 10pm
What you'll do.
- Operate forklift to move, stack, and organise products daily.
- Safely load and unload trucks, containers or pallets using forklifts, ensuring goods are properly secured and undamaged.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines or loading areas.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report any faults or required maintenance to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow company safety policies, including correct use of PPE and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Accurately complete relevant documentation such as delivery notes, or warehouse records.
- Support team members with manual handling tasks and other duties as required.
- Flexibility may be required to undertake additional/other duties on occasion, based on business needs and requirements.
