Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high quality, efficient, testable software to implement key product features

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent programming skills in Angular, and some of the following; JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
  • Experience in consuming and building REST Web services
  • Experience in the usage of version control tools like 'git'
  • Experience of CI/CD processes and technologies
  • Proactive, self-driven, and possessing a growth mindset
  • A passion for frontend development
  • Demonstrated awareness of modern AI technologies and their implications (safety, privacy, reliability), with role-appropriate skills developed through internal training and applied practice

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in accessibility compliance
  • Experience of Python or Java
  • Experience of AWS technologies
  • Experience in using defect tracking and test management systems such as 'Jira'
  • Understanding of microservices architecture principles and best practices
  • Experience with Bot Platforms or Natural Language Understanding concepts and technologies

The Opportunity

This role requires 8+ years of front-end software engineering and delivery experience. You will be able to communicate effectively across the organization, display strong technical skills, and be part of a team that fosters a culture of Continuous Improvement. What you'll do:
  • Design and develop large scale, enterprise-grade Angular applications
  • Contribute to and deliver the front-end architecture roadmap
  • Build and maintain (with DevOps) the Continuous Integration framework for front end applications, including integration with Agile Project Management tools, code repositories, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Work closely with the Product team to define UI/UX requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to define the front-end testing strategy and approach
  • Contribute to the definition of non-functional requirements (NFRs) including performance, accessibility, security, and maintainability for front end components
  • Proactively identify areas of technical debt in the front-end codebase, lead initiatives to resolve them, and promote best practices for maintainable code
  • Assist in technical roadmap planning to ensure timely delivery of features while addressing technical debt and evolving front end technologies
  • Collaborate closely with back end and database teams, contribute to API design and integration, and take ownership of features from conception through to delivery
  • Design and implement key metrics to demonstrate incremental improvements in front end team output and product quality
  • Maintain a strong focus on iterative software development, delivering incremental value to the user experience
Who you are:
  • Demonstrable experience of at least 8+ years in front end engineering, with a strong focus on Angular (Angular 13+)
  • Deep understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular framework, and state management libraries
  • Strong experience with front end build tools, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jasmine, Karma, Cypress, Webpack)
  • Solid knowledge of web standards, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, RESTful APIs, and responsive design principles
  • Experience with UI/UX best practices and accessibility (WCAG) standards
  • Familiarity with Agile Project Management tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex front-end issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior team members
  • Experience integrating code quality tools, managing version control (e.g., Git), and participating in code reviews
  • Experience working with design systems and maintaining front end consistency at scale
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related subject is beneficial

The Role

You'll be joining as the
Founding Frontend Engineer
