High Voltage Expert & Vehicle Diagnostic Technician
Pilsen Auto - is seeking to further strengthen our team with an enthusiastic, motivated Volkswagen Audi Group Qualified Diagnostic Technician.
The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience at a senior technician level & undertake the repair and servicing of vehicles having a key focus on diagnosing faults across the team & the service dept., ensuring all work is completed safely, to the highest standards and to customer satisfaction.
This position will include support driving productivity across the department. Working closely with our Workshop Controller highlighting any issue that need attention & proposing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring exceptional customer service standards are met.
- Demonstrates the Pilsen Auto First Customer Behaviours in daily activities and in all interactions with customers.
- Questions and probes issues to find an effective resolution for all customers.
- Leading by example in all aspects, supporting & assisting in motiving each team member when required.
- Take responsibility for the repair and servicing of vehicles.
- Completing work orders including details of repairs completed, parts required and labour to be charged.
- Analysing work orders and assesses the accuracy of the diagnosis across the workshop.
- Tests vehicles using measuring devices and provide diagnostic reports.
- Interprets and uses technical data and instruction provided by the manufacturer (e.g., Skoda System)
- Ensures any faults have been reported and noted on job cards and inform the Service Manager of any additional faults not covered in the scope of the repair and delay to completion.
- Inform the Service Advisor and parts department if a part needs to be ordered.
- Ensures vehicles are protected and kept clean during service and repair.
- Ensures vehicle safety standards have been complied with when returned to customers.
- Carries out vehicle health checks and identifies areas of concern.
- Conducts routine service work on vehicles brought into the workshop.
- Performs technical repair work in accordance with established and documented procedures.
- Records all hours and material usage accurately and probes for efficiencies.
- Checks quality of work through diagnostic and road testing.
- Ensures all work is completed to Manufacturer standards and rules.
Works as a full member of the Dealership Team
- As a Diagnostic Technician support the team to meet objectives with key focus in the area of Diagnostic.
- Work with colleagues and other teams across the Dealership to seek out and deliver continuous improvements and provide a seamless service to customers.
- Plans and delivers training sessions to support the development of Technicians & Apprentice Technicians in Diagnostics.
- Uses feedback to improve own skills and performance.
- Maintains a professional manner and high standards of personal presentation at all times, ensuring that work area and protective clothing is kept clean, tidy and in a safe condition to uphold Pilsen Auto and dealer standards.
- Adheres to legal, environmental and health and safety requirements whilst ensuring the safety and security of people, vehicles and property at all times, reporting any known faults or hazards.

The Project
The role is within the chief infrastructure office of a semi-state organisation in Ireland. Key Responsibilities
- Design: Participate in all aspects of the electrical design process for switchgear control units, from concept to completion.

- Project Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle as the point of contact, including scope management, design approval, and ensuring timely deliveries. Role Overview
Davenham Switchgear Ltd, a Legrand Group company, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (Switchgear) to join our industry-leading Electrical Engineering team based in Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
This is a fully onsite position, where you'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and manage electrical switchgear assemblies. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in low-voltage switchgear design and be proficient in AutoCAD. Experience with additional design software will be considered an advantage.
You will manage multiple projects from conception to completion — overseeing design, providing technical expertise, and ensuring smooth project delivery while maintaining our high standards of client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Design:
- Contribute to all stages of the electrical design process for switchgear control units, from concept through to completion.
- Create schematic designs, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, EPLAN).
- Ensure all designs comply with company standards, national regulations, and safety requirements.
Project Management:
- Manage projects through their full lifecycle, acting as the primary point of contact for design approvals, scope management, and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with production teams to handle scope changes, project milestones, and client expectations.
- Attend vendor meetings and oversee outsourced services such as 3D/BIM modelling.
Team Collaboration & Client Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing technical queries, providing project updates, and ensuring smooth handovers.
- Prepare for and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), including documentation and client support during the process.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Manage and submit all required documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including as-built drawings, test certificates, warranty details, and final handover documentation (H2C).
- Ensure accurate O&M Manuals and handover documents are uploaded to client systems upon project completion.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
- 2–4 years' post-graduate experience, ideally in LV switchgear design
- Proficient in creating drawings, calculations, and technical specifications
- Skilled in engineering design software and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and relevant industry standards
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Project Management certification is an advantage

- Create designs for high and medium voltage substations, including control and protection systems.
