Mechanical Maintenance A growing, market leading Irish manufacturer are currently looking to hire a mechanical engineer to join their prestigious team in Co. Kildare. Our client provides an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer to earn a generous package in a tight knit employee focused firm! Role: Based in the Co. Kildare facility for 50% of the time and 50% on different sites in Ireland, the successful candidate will need to be open for some international travel and will be compensated through travel allowance and subsidies & will accrue extra holiday days. Travel to food production facilities across Ireland - Installs, assembling and testing. Will solve break down problems on conveyor belts and other food production machinery Address breakdowns and train the workforce on specific machinery. Plan trips for servicing in the UK that can be completed in a day. Longer new build projects can take between 3-5 weeks in the US (normally followed by a few weeks off work upon return) Person: We are looking to speak to candidates that have several years' experience in a similar mechanical role. Relevant engineering trade/qualification or relevant experience. Ideally the candidate will have experience with automation, robotics & production plant machinery. Fitter / Fabricators are desired. Maintenance Technicians will also be considered. The successful candidate will be required to complete a pre employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing as part of the recruitment process. Key Responsibilities Key Duties and Responsibilities: Installation, maintenance and servicing of plant & equipment including (but not limited to) pumps, oil burners, dosing systems, pipework and related services. Support the installation of new projects. Maintaining and servicing plant, machinery, pipework, pumps and equipment on site Assisting in new equipment installation and maintenance at other associated Enva/ customer sites Maintaining relevant records accurately and in a timely manner in relation to the above To carry out checks, inspections and audits as directed To conduct your duties in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the company's waste licence To adhere to the company's Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times To ensure that housekeeping is kept to a high standard around the site and that all activities comply with health and safety requirements. To communicate any concerns which may affect operational process to the Production Manager immediately. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Mechanical background such as mechanical fitter, maintenance fitter (MAMF), etc. Qualified fitter or sufficient mechanical maintenance experience required, i.e. Fs/ City & Guilds or equivalent mechanical time-served Apprenticeship with Junior and Senior Trades an advantage. Relevant/ practical/ hands-on experience in the areas outlined, ideally in a manufacturing/ production environment within medium/heavy industrial industry. Experience with equipment such pumping equipment, oil burners and hydraulic & pneumatic equipment. Welding, drilling and grinding experience. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on both a reactive and planned basis, and flexibility to meet business needs and customer demands. Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyors, and production related equipment. Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines, monitor and continually improve maintenance processes to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency. Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns. Sourcing parts for repair and machine upgrades, negotiating with suppliers and liaising with equipment vendors. Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. Maintain all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operations. Continually seek to drive improvements in equipment efficiencies and operational performance. Drive, support and participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects for machine downtime reduction. Communicating with the production team and mentor apprentices. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. Installing new production equipment. Preparing and submitting maintenance reports. Development and management of a Maintenance Management System. Share knowledge and experience with others and provide relevant training to colleagues, where required. Ensure machine and equipment safety is at the paramount when undertaking maintenance. Follow the company health and safety policies and procedures. Any other duties as reasonably required.
