Offering alert organism surveillance, with a focus on limiting the spread of transmissible organisms. As needed, to take the lead in assisting with the investigation and management of infectious disease outbreaks.To reduce healthcare-associated infections by increasing knowledge of infection prevention and control throughout all clinical services. Take part in the risk assessment process for infection control matters. To plan, organize, oversee, and audit adherence to infection control protocols, such as hospital hygiene, isolation protocols, hand hygiene, and other protocols. In compliance with the infection control plan, create and oversee an extensive infection control program in designated locations. RequirementsA registered general nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible to register with the NMBI.A formal post-registration education program that is recognized by the QQI National Framework and is relevant to the field of specialist practice at level 8 (Higher Diploma).A higher diploma or equivalent in critical care nursing and infection control.A minimum of two years experience in the infection control specialtyfive years of acute hospital post-registration experience in the previous seven years.Competencies in Technology and Medicine Benefits  Life Healthcare SchemeStaff Car parking facilitiesretirement pension package Annual Leave
