Job Description
The Role will be responsible for the oversight of execution of MUFG's records management framework, ensuring that all records—physical and electronic—are created, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
This role underpins MUFG's commitment to data integrity, transparency, and compliance by embedding robust records lifecycle practices across the organisation. The Records Manager will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure that records are verifiable, reliable, and accessible, while minimising risk exposure and supporting operational efficiency. Supporting the overall Risk and Compliance Management Framework at MUFG.
Role and Responsibility
- Support the head of data governance in rolling out the records management framework at MUFG.
- Create and maintain records management policies and procedures in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
- Create record maps, train business functions on populating these, and align them with the record retention schedule.
- Develop processes to keep the record retention schedule up to date by liaising with departments such as compliance, business teams, and legal as required.
- Oversee the implementation of the record retention schedule at MUFG for both physical and digital records by working with the business, IT and supporting functions.
- Educate staff on proper records management practices, including the creation of record maps and maintaining the record retention schedule. Create and manage a SharePoint page dedicated to records management.
- Respond to requests for information related to records management and participate in meetings and projects as a subject matter expert.
- Create and develop Oversight KPIs and Reporting for the records management team, including but not limited to the completion of record maps, the status of physical storage across jurisdictions, unstructured records status on SharePoint etc.
- Develop dashboards for senior management committees and forums using power bi or other appropriate BI tools as required.
- Build an internal community for records management by engaging stakeholders and influencing correct processes and practices.
- Serve as the go-to person for records management issues, providing guidance and support to staff and stakeholders as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve records management processes and enhance record management capabilities. Review existing records management applications across MUFG Investor Services and propose more efficient methods, including automation.
- Ensure the Organisation adheres to all relevant regulations and internal policies regarding records management. Create a process to track adherence to the policy.
- Partner with the Business and IT to develop mechanisms to manage records more effectively as we progress toward a future state architecture.
- Support wider company efforts and projects from a Records Management perspective with respect to new business, products and services, locations and other strategic initiatives.
- Adhoc projects and initiatives as required to support the Data Governance and wider Risk and Compliance Frameworks.
Professional Experience
- 5+ years' experience in records management, information governance, or compliance within financial services
- Experience in implementing a records management program
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR) and their application to records and data life cycle management.
- Experience with enterprise content management systems and retention tools (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Purview, Iron Mountain).
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels

The role
As a Data Governance Manager in SSE Airtricity, you will drive a data-driven decision-making culture across the energy retail business, while ensuring compliance with regulatory needs and data governance frameworks. This will involve shaping the data strategy, embedding a data literate culture across the business, creating data frameworks and policies, and driving improvements in how data is managed as a strategic asset for the business.
You will
- Develop and maintain data governance policies and frameworks that align with regulatory requirements and data governance best practices
- Establish and maintain an aligned data strategy across the business that focuses on value delivery
- Lead on data literacy improvements across the business to establish a data driven culture and self-serve capability, monitoring progress with periodic data maturity assessments across the business
- Ensure data stewards and data owners are managing their data effectively, following agreed frameworks and taking actions to improve their data quality and metadata
- Ensure data is catalogued, described in a business context, data quality profiled and discoverable by authorised users across the business
You have
- A degree in Information Systems, Data Management or related field, with demonstrable data management experience in a data governance role
- Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK, with CDMP qualifications being advantageous
- Proficiency with data governance platforms and tools, such as Unity Catalog, Informatica or similar
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data quality assessment techniques and master data management principles
- Proven ability to influence and drive change across multiple business units with experience presenting to senior leadership

Description
As a Data Governance Engineer, you'll be part of a team responsible for establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards across Apple. You'll collaborate with various teams to drive data governance initiatives forward. At the forefront of your role will be designing and building innovative data and analytics solutions to meet Apple's complex business needs. You'll design and develop executive reporting solutions to mitigate data governance risks across the company. Additionally, you'll identify and resolve data discrepancies to create actionable visualizations that inform decision-making. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial to enable business units and teams to embed data governance principles into operational processes and systems. Your ultimate goal is to develop comprehensive governance solutions that ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of Apple's diverse data assets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience as a Data Engineer or similar role with experience in data governance, data management, aggregating data sources, metric definition, data visualisation with tools like Tableau or Apache Superset.
- Experience using SQL, Spark/PySpark, Python, Java, or Scala
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act, CCPA) and industry best practices.
- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in designing and developing custom ETL pipelines using SQL and scripting languages (Python/Shell) and workflow management tools like Airflow.
- Proficiency in SQL within MPP/distributed databases like Apache Druid, Snowflake and Redshift in large-scale environments.
- Proven data driven decision making skills
- Experience in deploying large-scale streaming data pipelines using Kafka and Spark.
- Proficiency in advanced SQL and performance tuning.
- Experience with Snowflake AI features like, Cortex and DocAI, for using machine learning and document processing to improve data workflows and insights.
- Experience in backend API development and management using Java, Scala, or Python.
- Experience with version control systems, CI/CD practices, automated testing, and migration tools for databases and software
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
Experience with reporting tools like Tableau, Apache Superset and QuickSight
