The Opportunity
Join our Infrastructure team in one of our Irish offices and contribute to impactful projects across Ireland and Europe.
The 24-strong site infrastructure team in Ireland (based primarily in Dublin and Cork) provides a range of design services for projects in both the public and private sectors. We work closely with other Arup teams as part of Arup-wide multidisciplinary teams in Ireland and across the world.
We deliver projects primarily in the Science Industry and Technology sectors as well as Healthcare, Educational, Commercial, Residential and a variety of other sectors.

As a Senior Civil Design Engineer at Arup, you will:
- Lead and manage the delivery of the civil engineering and utility design scope of site development projects
- Be responsible for producing designs, drawings, 3D models, specifications and reports on time and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Represent Arup at client meetings, offering expert advice and developing innovative solutions.

- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years' experience within a consultancy environment.
- Must have chartered professional status, or similar recognised qualification.
- Strong site infrastructure technical design skills (surface water, foul, water, roads and carparks, earthworks, underground utility services coordination).
- Proven track record in project delivery of large-scale site infrastructure projects.
- Ability to technically lead and manage the design process on site infrastructure projects from conceptual layout to detailed design and construction.
- Highly experienced in the use of BIM (Civil 3D and/or Revit) to deliver coordinated site infrastructure designs as part of a multi-discipline project environment.
We also value:
- Awareness of the Irish regulatory and planning framework, together with experience of managing site infrastructure projects through the planning process.
- Experience liaising with Uisce Eireann, Utility Companies and Local Authorities.
- Experience managing internal and external design interfaces e.g., architectural, structural, geotechnical, landscape, mechanical and electrical.
- Experience leading and directing teams in a digital/BIM environment, co-ordinating civil services with those of other disciplines.
- Passionate about driving digital delivery on projects and keeping appraised of latest industry developments around digital and BIM.
- Experience with InfoDrainage or similar hydraulic modelling software.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and organisational skills.

- Degree in an Electrical Engineering plus a cumulative 6+ years experience with power systems and mission critical electrical design.
- Excellent understanding of the European Electrical Codes coupled with detailed understanding of critical LV, MV and HV electrical equipment.
- Understanding of relays, protections schemes, high-voltage circuit breakers, power and distribution transformers electrical switchgear, grounding and earthing and the ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

*BASIC QUALIFICATIONS *
- Degree in an Electrical Engineering plus a cumulative 6+ years experience with power systems and mission critical electrical design.

About The Role
Reporting to the CSA Design Manager, the Civil Design Engineer will be a senior member of the Project Team.
You will have notable cross-discipline design and technical experience in addition to the ability to communicate and engage with stakeholders, at all levels as required. This will include managing design packages from initial review, through to assisting with estimation, procurement, planning and handover for execution on site. With the ability to support the end-to-end project deliverables at all stages, the Civil Design Engineer will be integral to the delivery of high valued projects for major data centre clients.

Team Management
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction managers to develop comprehensive project plans and ensure delivery on schedule.
- Collaborate with any other consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, estimators, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
- Liaise with clients and other 3rd parties as required, such as insurance companies, vendors, etc.
- Develop comprehensive scope-of-works (SoW), task information deliverables list (TIDP), and responsibility matrices (R&R/ RACI) for civil discipline.
- Raise any design-related risks to planning, commercial and management, and establish a course to minimise their impact.
- Maintain accurate records of key design activities (eg. changes, issues) as they arise and escalate to management as appropriate.

Technical Engineering
