The Role:
- Lead the transition of LAMP stack to a containerized platform.

- Experience with SSH and managing systems running on AlmaLinux.

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for understanding, supporting, and maintaining Grant Thornton's cloud environment ecosystem, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and AWS. Additionally, this role will support internal processes as part of the overall infrastructure delivery, including managing/interacting relevant service providers and support efforts to meet evolving business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level guidance and support for enterprise cloud environments, specializing in Azure (IaaS & PaaS), AWS, Application Services, Azure Virtual Desktop, Entra ID, and cloud-based networking solutions. Ensure the design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance align with industry best practices and business objectives.
- Participate in IT change management processes, including handling Incident, Change, and Service Requests, to ensure seamless support across Azure, AWS, and other cloud environments. Adhere to ITIL best practices for effective service delivery and incident resolution.
- Support cloud-related incident management and post-incident reviews, focusing on Azure cloud primarily. Analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with service provider teams to resolve service disruptions quickly.
- Optimize Azure Virtual Desktop environments for global users, including configuring host pools, session hosts, scaling plans, and ensuring alignment with Windows Virtual Desktop best practices. Work closely with MSP and global teams for operational support.

- Analyze compute, storage, and network performance metrics across Azure (VMs, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, etc.) and monitor capacity, usage, and metrics, escalating issues as necessary to prevent resource exhaustion and optimize resource allocation.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring the architecture is scalable, resilient, and cost-effective in Azure and AWS. - Leverage tools like Nerdio and Azure Virtual Desktop to streamline processes, ensure seamless access, and resource allocation across multiple global instances, ensuring consistency and optimization.
- Monitor and optimize cloud costs in both Azure and AWS using tools such as Azure Cost Management and AWS Cost Explorer. Track and manage cloud spend, ensuring efficient resource utilization and adherence to budget constraints.
- Support ongoing cloud projects, participate in cloud-related research and development (R&D), and assist in evaluating modern technologies to continuously improve the organization's cloud infrastructure capabilities.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or practical experience in a technical field involving large, complex cloud environments is required. Microsoft Azure/AWS and other IT Certifications are a plus.

Your role
The Cloud Infrastructure Manager will manage one of our Cloud Infrastructure squads from a technical, delivery & strategic point of view, with technical experience to help shape our ongoing cloud infrastructure strategy, leveraging the existing team to achieve a series of outcomes.
Reporting into the Head of Cloud Infrastructure and Release Management, this is a role that will require technical understanding of the technology solutions within AWS, EI Tech and be able to work within Aer Lingus business processes and systems.
As a Cloud Infrastructure Manager, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Continue to evolve a self-managing team that will provide additional support to existing production support procedures across infrastructure, business and application support.
- Experience defining and executing an enterprise level AWS Cloud migration strategy - to note Aer Lingus have migrated to AWS and are on the cloud modernisation journey to Cloud Native and its this that this individual will be defining and managing, along with the day to day of managing the cloud infra team (approx. 50 resources).
- Collaborate with PMO, change management, QA, DBA and application teams.
- Own regular status reports to management on application status and other metrics.
- Collaborate with management to improve and customize reports related to production support.
- Prioritize issues raised and resolve them accordingly.
- Manage escalation and resolution of major service issues.
- Escalate promptly to management and business partners regarding critical outages until resolution.
- Manage off-shore, outsourced vendor to an SLA and execution of critical situations.

AWS Infrastructure & Data Operations Lead
to oversee
cloud resource management, data transfer optimisation, and cost efficiency
across our cloud environment. The role will focus on
monitoring AWS infrastructure, improving data pipelines, and ensuring best practices in cloud storage and computing efficiency

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Cloud Strategy and Optimization
- Maintain and optimise AWS infrastructure, including
S3 storage, EC2 instances, RDS, and data transfer workflows
. - Collaborate with processing, data, and development teams to evaluate and implement optimal cloud solutions tailored to support survey operations and data workflows.
- Design and develop modular cloud-based systems, focusing primarily on AWS, to support both operational and machine learning pipelines.
System Enhancement and Innovation
- Implement automation for routine cloud management tasks, leveraging AWS tools like Lambda, CloudWatch, and Step Functions.
- Modify and improve existing systems to enhance data processing, storage efficiency, and scalability.
- Regularly review existing systems and provide recommendations for improvements, focusing on operational efficiency and automation.
Team Enablement and Training
- Educate team members and stakeholders on implementing and utilising new cloud technologies, including best practices for integrating these technologies into workflows.
- Provide training on tools and processes that enhance the team's ability to manage data securely and efficiently.
Cloud Development and Deployment
- Develop, maintain, and deploy cloud solutions following best practices, ensuring compatibility with evolving team and organisational needs.
- Support the development of in-house solutions for machine learning and automation projects, integrating them with cloud systems.
Security and Compliance
- Ensure the efficient functioning of data storage and processing systems in alignment with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
- Oversee cloud security measures and compliance, ensuring adherence to ISO27001 standards, and act as an Information Security Manager (ISM) where required.
Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement
- Identify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues to minimize downtime and risks.
- Collaborate across teams to troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues promptly.
Client and Team Collaboration
- Interact with internal clients and cross-functional teams to provide cloud support and tailored solutions based on project needs.
- Align cloud initiatives with team objectives, such as streamlining survey and operational data pipelines.
Machine Learning and Data Governance Support
- Support upcoming machine learning projects by ensuring optimal cloud integration for data models and training processes.
- Work with the data management team lead to implement governance policies for cloud-stored data, emphasizing transparency, accessibility, and auditability.
Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, etc.).
- Expertise in cost optimisation and AWS billing management (AWS Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances).
- Familiarity with data transfer, networking, and security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot cloud performance and efficiency issues.
- Ability to document, train, and guide teams on AWS best practices.
- Bachelor's /Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- At least seven years of experience in the field of cloud computing/ cloud architecting.
- Experience with concepts of IAC, Resilience, High Availability, Monitoring, Observability.
- AWS certifications preferred.
- Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Experience
- Some working knowledge of Control systems, Machine learning, Marine Industry would be beneficial.
