**Who we are looking for**
+ Senior trades qualification and at least 5 years post qualification experience in mechanical or electrical trade (essential).

+ Must possess superior written and verbal skills excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask.
+ Experience in Pneumatics, electronics, hydraulics, Programmable controllers, servo drives, HVAC and specifically vision systems.

A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. This role reports to the Utilities Supervisor and is responsible for Utility Technician duties focussed on the safe operation of the Site and Utilities Systems owned by the Utilities function. + Monitor production processes, running diagnostic tests with products and equipment, and create a comprehensive report for resolution methods
+ Certifies and train manufacturing associates in the production processes.
+ Evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. May develop or revise documents and procedures.
+ Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
+ Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
+ Min level 6 in technical related discipline.
+ Electrical and mechanical skills are desired.
+ Must have excellent knowledge with industrial machines and the mechanical industry, as their expertise is crucial in keeping the safety and security of all production staff.
+ Experience within a Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order system environment.
+ Technical and fault-finding skills
+ Surface mount technology experience an advantage.

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**
Provides technical support relating to equipment utilized in the manufacturing areas by repairing, maintaining, or modifying production equipment utilizing technical expertise, technical manuals, schematic drawings, precision tools, and test equipment.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
+ Responds to assembly line equipment repair calls, diagnosing equipment problems, and performing necessary repairs.
+ Documents equipment qualifications and upgrades made to existing machines, including preventative maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation of repair history in Asset Management Integrating Global Operations (AMIGO).
+ Maintains back-up equipment and ensures spare parts are maintained at the required levels to meet manufacturing equipment needs.
+ Assists industrial, manufacturing, and quality engineers in the operation of equipment.
+ Provides equipment development engineers with feedback on equipment issues and offers suggestions for improving equipment uptime.
+ Assists in the construction of worktables, providing necessary utilities, and setting up equipment on manufacturing assembly lines.
+ Modifies existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demands.
**EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES**
+ National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline. Relevant work experience advantageous but not essential, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
+ Applies limited knowledge of basic technical concepts and practices and a basic understanding of product or systems fundamentals. Utilizes basic knowledge of numerical and/or statistical data and computer software programs to resolve routine problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
+ Performs routine technical tasks working from detailed written or verbal instructions. Performs routine set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of certain area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. **A Day in The Life Of:**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
+ Perform a variety of Engineering Maintenance tasks in the Mechanical and automated control areas.
+ Fabrication and machining of components and fixtures utilising Lathes, Milling Machines and other workshop equipment, to aid manufacturing.
+ Ensures maintenance activities are performed and delivered to the required safety and cGMP standards.
+ Minimise equipment downtime through rapid response to issues, the identification of root cause and implementation of corrective/preventative measures.
+ Records maintenance activity, corrective actions and root cause of issues in the CMMS system.
+ Represent the Engineering Maintenance function for equipment design and performance improvement initiatives.
+ Works from schematics, Engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
+ Executes preventative maintenance routines in compliance with schedule.
+ Provide technical support when required to Engineering, Operations, Quality and Safety.
+ Utilise best in class maintenance tools to support the implementation of the Medtronic Maintenance Excellence process.
+ Provide technical support to Lean Sigma initiatives/continuous improvement projects or other task/project teams as required.
+ Assist with Engineering and Manufacturing training.
**Key Skills & Experience**
+ We are looking for a qualified person with a minimum NFQ Level 6 Mechanical craft certificate or academic qualification in a relevant discipline.
+ Proven track record of hands-on mechanical and automation maintenance experience.
+ Experience at using manual lathes, milling machines and other machine tools. CNC machining experience desirable.
+ Ability to demonstrate Medtronic mindsets in their work and good presentation skills are desirable.
+ The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams.
+ A good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speak.
+ Experienced with computer literacy and team dynamic skills.
+ Knowledge of automated systems is an advantage.
+ **Must be able to work Evening shift.**
