How You Will Contribute

What You Will Bring

The successful person will be responsible for the contract management element of the sourcing process as well as support/manage a number of projects across different categories, learning about tendering, negotiation, contracting, strategy development, for OB/PL in Musgrave, in securing the product required at the appropriate specification, with the right supplier at the lowest cost.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage the contracting process for all OB/PL products contracted.
  • Assist in managing the tendering, negotiation, and contracting of the required Own Brand products with the appropriate required quality with the right supplier whilst helping to minimise costs.
  • Assist in identifying and delivering cost-effective solutions for Musgrave Own Brand/Tertiary products across retail and wholesale.
  • Assist in managing and supporting your respective categories for Buying Group-led projects through all stages of the tender process to deliver the required products with the appropriate required quality with the right supplier at the lowest cost.
  • Promote simplification by continuously, and constructively, challenging current ways of working, with the objective of developing a simpler, faster, better business.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, and with existing and new suppliers.
  • Support in analysing and evaluating market intelligence and supplier/competitor trends to optimize sourcing.
  • Assist in building the annual savings budget for your respective categories and provide business updates monthly, quarterly, and annually versus budget.
  • Support commercial projects/explorations as and when they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with Musgrave policies, standards, and processes.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:

  • Manage discovery and preparation of RFP/RFI/RFQ as required using the approved Procurement toolkit documentation and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Conduct market research and supplier assessments to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
  • Support the implementation of procurement strategies that optimize the cost, quality, and delivery of goods and services
  • Manage procurement process for goods and services, including vendor selection, price negotiation, and contract management to achieve the best value for the organization.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and reliability to ensure the best value for the organization.
  • Monitor & Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor market trends and potential research suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor spending trends, identify potential new sourcing initiatives and avenues for supplier consolidation or rationalisation, analyze options, and provide recommendations for initiatives to be included in the business plan.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies to support business goals and objectives.
  • Liaise with the Vendor Management team to ensure continuity of supply/service and risk management of strategic contracts, ensuring that the delivery matches the objectives and deliverables in the contract schedules.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, CIPS or supply chain management, finance, or a related discipline
  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience and a demonstrated ability to manage strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • Having experience in handling contracts in IT, Professional Services, Travel or Production (Media) is considered an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract management skills
  • Sound financial analytical skills and a good understanding of contract law
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Awareness of regulation and legislation on the markets involved.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team/hybrid environment.
  • A proven team player with impeccable attention to detail and the ability to prioritise deliverables aligned with organisational strategy.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completely literate in the English language, with an advanced level in one of the European languages is a plus
