I am looking to speak with
AppOps Engineers / Technical Support specialists
to provide critical out-of-hours coverage through the holiday season to my Galway based client. This is an excellent short-term contract opportunity for skilled support professionals who can hit the ground running and ensure the smooth operation of our client's global operations.

This role is urgent and available immediately.
If you are an experienced Technical Support professional with 2+ years of experience who can commit to a 24/7 shift work model through Christmas, I'd love to hear from you.

Your Responsabilities

  • Monitor stability, availability, and reliability of the organisation's infrastructure and applications in real-time.
  • Ensure production systems remain highly available through proactive monitoring.
  • Identify, escalate, and support resolution of service incidents to minimize business impact.
  • Collaborate with organisation's support teams to implement preventive measures and service improvements.
  • Document, track, and manage issues through the support ticketing system (e.g., Jira).
  • Participate in shift handovers and maintain clear communication across 24/7 support teams.

Your Experience

  • Background in Technical Support, AppOps, or Service Delivery.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience with applications on Windows/Linux, including Tomcat, IIS, Globalscape SFTP, F5 load balancers.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Coralogix, DataDog, Netreo, Solarwinds.
  • Experience with Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of payment systems or financial applications highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline (preferred, not essential with equivalent experience).

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for Senior Engineers and Engineers to join our Transmission Power System Planning team. As an Engineer, you will form part of the Transmission Power System Planning function and will carry out a range of power system studies and analyses to investigate the impact of customer connections on the transmission grid and assessing the impact of these connections on the wider system. You will analyse the outcome of analysis and propose solutions where appropriate, prepare presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholder engagement and contribute to justifying investments decisions in the transmission grid. The role holder will support the functions processes designed to achieve regulated energy targets and stakeholder needs in line with company strategy.

The Team
The Transmission Power System Planning function is responsible for designing the connection methods for generation and demand customers who wish to connect to the electricity system and assessing the impact of these connections on the wider system. We identify the needs on the system, develop a range of reinforcement options and contribute to justifying investments decisions which ensure that the transmission grid is meeting the reliability and performance standards as well as supporting the renewable ambition and climate change targets.

About You
Successful candidates will have:

  • An engineering degree, typically with years experience of power systems
  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out power system modelling and analysis using power systems analysis software such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, and Plexos.
  • Awareness of energy targets and ambitions for decarbonisation of the energy sector.
  • Good, developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm and the capability to deliver in the context of changing parameters/requirements.
  • A passion for delivering on our vision and strategy.
