About the Role:
EPS Group is excited to offer a part-time opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Operations team as a Laboratory Process Technician, based at the Ennis Drinking Water Treatment Plant.
We are seeking a flexible and self-driven candidate who can manage their time effectively and take initiative in their work. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid command of the English language. The ability to communicate confidently-both in person and over the phone-with colleagues, clients and statutory bodies is essential.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of three years' experience in a process industry, preferrable with a background in drinking water and wastewater treatment.
- Proficiency in wet chemistry analytical techniques, including tests for suspended solids, dry solids, colour, turbidity and use of test kit apparatus such as Hach kits.
- Experience with jar testing procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota and work weekends as required.
- Willingness to provide cover for operatives and technicians in other areas to support holiday, sickness, and training needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor drinking water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Perform basic mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct process monitoring, complete record sheets, and collect process samples.
- Carry out laboratory tests including BOD, COD, suspended solids, turbidity and other standard water and wastewater analyses.
- Support process control through data collection and analysis.
- Generate technical reports using software tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and water discharge licence emission limits, including environmental parameters such as odour and noise.
- Maintain analysis schedules and coordinate with site operators and external laboratories.
- Manage inventory by ordering equipment, chemicals and consumables as required.
- Perform heavy manual tasks when necessary.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions as part of routine duties.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including availability for weekend and bank holiday shifts.
- Participate in a regular standby and call-out rota.

- Experience working in a wastewater and/or drinking water treatment plant environment.

An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician in Aurivo Dairy Ingredients. Chemical Laboratory Duties:
- Perform analysis of milk powder, bulk and retail butter, and intermediate products (e.g. moisture, protein, fat, wettability, sediment, coffee stability).
- Conduct yoghurt functionality testing (e.g. viscosity, pH, sensory analysis).
- Submit and crosstest weekly samples for external analysis.
