The Law Society is inviting internal applications for the position of Solicitor in the Regulatory Legal Services Section. Initially, this position is being advertised internally and is a part time role, 3 days a week.
Duties
The Regulatory Legal Services Section of the Law Society's Regulation Department is a case-driven legal team, engaged mostly in the running of disciplinary cases and High Court applications in the ordinary course of business together with judicial review and appeal cases. The successful candidate will advocate on behalf of the Society in disciplinary proceedings and act as a solicitor on behalf of the Society in legal proceedings as directed by the Head of Regulatory Legal Services.
The needs of the regulatory function also include a comprehensive regulatory service, including legal advice on contentious and non-contentious matters, both to deal with specific issues and to assist policy and procedure formulation. This legal advisory service extends beyond the Regulation Department and involves in-house legal advice to various executives in other Departments and Law Society committees. The preponderance of the work of the solicitor will be legal advisory side over the next few years.
The following duties will form a part of the role:
- Preparation of cases before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal
- Presenting cases before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal
- Preparation of cases before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal
- Presenting cases before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal
- Preparation and presentation of all appeals/applications to the High Court arising from disciplinary hearings (counsel may be retained in some, not all circumstances).
- Preparation and presentation of de novo Solicitors Acts applications to the High Court, including emergency applications to suspend a solicitor from practice and ancillary reliefs.
- Preparation and all work relating to the defence of judicial reviews and other substantive litigation which may be taken against the Law Society.
- Legal research and the provision of memoranda of legal advice on issues pertinent to the regulation of solicitors, to include policy development.
- Legal risk management including advice to the Regulation Department on matters such as professional indemnity insurance, data protection and legal costs.
- Provision of legal advice throughout the Department and to other Departments, executives and committees.
- Provision of legal advice to all Standing Committees of the Regulation Department being Regulation of Practice Committee, Complaints & Client Relations Committee, Professional Indemnity Insurance Committee and Money Laundering Reporting Committee.
Requirements
Ideally, the successful candidate will be a solicitor with experience in regulatory, civil and criminal litigation. They will have a genuine interest and enthusiasm in the provision of legal services, requiring a broad-based knowledge of all the legal issues arising within the regulatory function. They will also have a specific interest in advocacy. A keen interest in legal research and legal opinion writing is required for this role.

+ Manage the external counsel and relevant budgets.
+ Technical legal research and analysis of regulations impacting the Depositary & Fiduciary and Funds Businesses advising on significant regulatory developments.
**What We'll Need From You**
+ You must have a high-quality academic record including a Bachelors/ University degree qualification in the relevant discipline of law or equivalent.
+ Experience working in a fast-paced corporate legal department, law firm, financial services or related industry.
+ Broad knowledge of financial services legal and EU regulatory issues and detailed knowledge of fund legislation across the EU.
+ Understanding of fiduciary aspects of the rules.
+ Proven analytical and organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
+ Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, as well as has the ability to seek and understand instructions from the relevant business stakeholder.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws and practices relevant to the product areas and banking/ financial services industry.
+ Confidence and agility in challenging times and can effectively manage a busy workload comprising work from different financial product areas.
+ Ability to efficiently manage time and competing priorities.

We are expanding our EMEA Go to Market Legal team and are looking for a talented commercial lawyer to join us at the forefront of providing innovative and effective legal advice. We are looking for a lawyer with experience in the commercial IT (software or technology) sector, in-house or private practice, to be based from our Dublin EMEA Headquarters.
Job Responsibilities
- The position will work closely, and in conjunction with,legal counsel in different geographies to support our growing sales and services teams across four sales regions in EMEA.
- You will be effectively partnering with various sales focused groups, including deals management, sales and contracts operations, as well as managing external legal counsel, to deliver high levels of customer service.
- Identifies and analyses legal risks of varying scope; counsels and advocates regarding such risk; uses good judgment and effective techniques to reach solutions with minimal guidance
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
Education and Experience
- A European law degree or relevant professional legal qualification, with a preference for a dual qualified lawyer
- 2-5 years post qualification experience with a top tier law firm and/or in-house position
- Strong experience in negotiating commercial contracts and technology transactions
- Experience in European data protection and privacy legislation, with a preference for CIPP certification
- International commercial experience
- Excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills, preferably with cloud and enterprise software agreements. Skilled at persuasion with the ability to advocate for the business
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to create and sustain lasting relationships with customers and management
- Ability to deliver in a demanding and entrepreneurial environment in a timely manner
- A strong team player who can work well with colleagues in finance, sales and other functions
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for solving problems and adding value to the company
- Strong leadership ability, proactive, trouble shooter with good organisational skills
- Open and honest in communications with all stakeholders - legal colleagues, management, customers, auditors, regulators and others.

Dynamic Working:

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Experience and Qualifications:
The right candidate will:
- Have at least 5 years of relevant legal experience with a strong emphasis on commercial contracts and marketing compliance.
- Experience in an in-house role in a fast-moving consumer goods food or beverage industry is preferred. If based in Dublin a UK practising certificate is a plus.
- Be a motivated self-starter who can work autonomously, have an appetite for learning and mastering new legal issues quickly and the ability to manage a diverse workload .
- Be commercially minded, with the ability to understand commercial objectives, anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise and identify practical risk-based solutions.
- Be able to coordinate and work collaboratively with business partners, such as marketing, innovation, procurement, sustainability.
- Have strong communication and influencing skills; with the ability to communicate clear and practical advice.

This role will be based at KDP Ireland's Newbridge facility at least 3 days per week and report to the Sr Director, Legal. The role will focus primarily on supporting Keurig Dr Pepper's global Procurement functions in contract review, drafting and negotiation, and may involve other responsibilities as the business evolves. The position requires expertise in structuring, drafting and negotiating complex transactions, ensuring compliance with intellectual property requirements, data privacy regulations and cybersecurity standards, as well as knowledge of standard contractual terms with strong drafting skills and a business mindset. **Position Responsibilities:**
+ Support the Procurement functions with a focus on IT, Marketing, Manufacturing and R&D in the review, drafting and negotiation of a large variety and volume of agreements;

+ Experience advising global teams and collaborating with global functions.
