Applicants will be expected to be Garda Vetted and provide two written references.
Responsibilities in General: Carers have a responsibility to protect & promote Clients rights by: Treating them with dignity, sensitivity & respect Encouraging Clients to have an input into care provision Helping Clients to be safe, happy.
Encouraging Clients to express feelings, fears & experiences openly Where applicable respecting Clients privacy in bathrooms or in relation to personal care in general Dressing & undressing/preparing the Client for trips out Washing/bathing/showering/grooming/cleaning teeth Hair care (washing/brushing) Toileting & all aspects of personal hygiene Continence management Getting in & out of bed Assisting with the use of Aids to Daily Living/Rehabilitation Aids, as required Helping with rehabilitation programmes, as prescribed by Healthcare professionals Being sensitive to the fact that some Client are more vulnerable & may have special needs Preparation of snacks & meals according to the Clients likes/dislikes Assisting with feeding, as required General cleaning duties, to include cleaning/dusting/vacuuming/polishing Bed-making, Laundry/Ironing as required Shopping, and the preparation of shopping lists Essential Requirements: To participate in training as required To act in accordance with DHHCS policies & procedures; and relevant legislation To maintain accurate, concise and timely records contained in the Clients Home Care File To participate in, when requested, Client, Staff, Team and Quality Management Review Meetings as directed by the Supervisor/Manager To report back to the Supervisor/Manager on any aspect of the Clients care which you feel warrants investigation or urgent action Empathy with Carers and those receiving care Excellent communication skills and use of the English language We are not in a position to offer sponsorship Good listening skills and sensitivity in giving emotional support A helpful manner and ability to communicate with people in a variety of situations and from different backgrounds Excellent work ethos Ability to give physical and personal care e.g.
toileting, washing and feeding Willingness to help with domestic duties, including cooking if required in the Care Plan Ability to build relationships with families/individuals and help them to maintain their social links were necessary Ability to work in a team and report back to a senior member of the care team any observations affecting the family/individuals circumstances Respect for confidentiality at all times Ability to work alone, use initiative and be mindful of health and safety at all times Good general health, willing to undergo medical if required A willingness to undertake Garda Vetting Relevant Qualifications i.e.
QQI 5 inclusive of two mandatory modules (Care Skills & Care of the Older Person Skills: healthcare communication skills.

Key Responsibilities Work as part of a team of Healthcare Assistants under the supervision of the Nursing Team.

Qualifications & Experience Essential Requirements: QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (or equivalent, including Care Skills & Care of the Elderly Person modules).
A caring, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in older persons care.
Cheerful and compassionate approach.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow guidance and direction.
Good judgment, initiative, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in spoken and written English with clear communication skills.
Desirable: Previous experience in a similar healthcare or nursing home environment.
Willingness to learn and develop a long-term career in the care sector.
Additional skills or hobbies that may contribute to residents social activities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
