About the Role

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care and ensure the dignity, comfort, and wellbeing of residents at all times.
- Lead and support the team of Healthcare Assistants in delivering direct and indirect care.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with residents and their families to promote a caring and inclusive atmosphere.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

- Minimum 6 months post-graduate experience in elderly care (preferred).
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Performs hands-on nursing care by utilising the nursing process to achieve quality outcomes for residents.
· Provides direction and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, demonstrates professional judgement, uses problem solving techniques and time-management principles, and delegates appropriately.
· Coordinates nursing care activities in collaboration with members of the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate achievement of overall goals.
· Coordinates a holistic approach to meeting patient's medical, vocational, educational, and environmental needs
· Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills to develop a rapport with residents, their families, and health team members.
· Acts as a resource and a role model for nursing staff and students and participates in activities such as nursing committees and professional.

Responsibilities
General
- Demonstrate Governance & Leadership in the management of Padre Pio Care Centre
- Ensure the provision of a high standard of care and service to the resident and their families
- Maintain compliance with HIQA Regulations.
- Promote and oversee the delivery of holistic, personcentred care
- Lead the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and seamless care
- Communicate with relevant teams regarding ongoing Padre Pio Care Centre operations.
- Communicate with the residents, families and MDT members for all residents, relatives, and visitors on an ongoing basis.
Management
- Undertake the role and responsibilities of the PersoninCharge in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations and the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) standards.
- Ensure excellence in Governance, Management & Leadership
- Responsibility for the management of the team supported by the ADON.
- Facilitate Training & Education for all staff
- Implement and amend policies and procedures in line with current guidelines
- Communication with external agencies
- Responsibility for Risk Management, Health & Safety, IPC, Management of Complaints & Incidents in line with company Policy.
- Create and promote open communication, healthy working relationships, and stimulate initiatives among the team
- Motivate team members, by agreeing goals and objectives, through performance review

Requirements
- Qualified Registered Nurse, with at least 3 years' experience in the last 6 years in Care of the Older Person
- Post registration Management Qualification (level 8) in healthcare or related field
- No less than 3 years' experience in a management capacity in the Health & Social Care Area
- Engaged in continuous professional development
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and clinical nursing practice in Care of Older Persons
- Indepth knowledge of HIQA and compliance with the Health Act and working within
- Knowledge of HR law, H&S and relevant legislation governing nursing homes
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the Company
- Good appreciation of finance issues
