**What is this position:**
As Manufacturing Technician you will provide technical support relating to equipment utilized in the manufacturing areas by repairing, maintaining, or modifying production equipment.
Monitoring machine output on the shift to and ensure all cells are running to cycle time, to meet specific targets.

Sterile Manufacturing Technician Onsite Role - Shanbally, Cork 3 Shift Rotation The Sterile Manufacturing Technician will support the capital project execution, product transfers and operational readiness activities before moving into routine operational support. This facility will contain a state of the art flexible line using isolator technology for filling of vials and syringes and the facility will support both clinical and commercial filling for the majority of the BioMarin biologics product portfolio. Role SummaryBioMarin has a high-performing, team based organization, where colleagues are flexible, multi-skilled and empowered to make decisions. A high level of initiative, energy and motivation are key role requirements, as well as excellent organizational skills. As part of establishing sterile filling operations at the Shanbally facility, this role will play an important part in the start-up of the facility including tasks such as; attend equipment FATs, develop SOPs and batch records, generate training and qualification programmes, support equipment and process validation activities. Once start up is complete, the Sterile Manufacturing Technician will perform recombination and pooling of drug substance; filling line set-up and sterile filling operations, equipment and line changeovers, and sampling in accordance with approved procedures prior to visual inspection activities. This role will also have responsibility for operation of the parts washer and autoclave. Responsibilities also include root cause analysis of equipment and process problems, and implementing effective solutions, including preventive and/or corrective actions. ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in a quality-focused, operational GMP environment where attention to detail and commitment to the task at hand is key. Previous GMP Sterile Filling experience is required with a strong preference for candidates with isolator vial and syringe filling experience in a start-up environment. Previous experience in a leadership role or senior technician role is preferred. Reporting to the Drug Product Team Lead, the successful candidate shall work as part of a team of Sterile Filling Technicians to complete both the manufacturing and visual inspection of sterile drug product as per the schedule for onward processing in the packaging facility. Abbott Vascular Clonmel is the largest Abbott Manufacturing facility in Ireland focusing on both manufacturing and research and development of next generation vascular products.
**We are currently on the look out for both Manufacturing Technicians and Quality Technicians.**
**As the Quality Technician, you will:**
+ Assist engineering in providing manufacturing support by reviewing and analysing data to determine manufacturing issues and trends. You may also train operators on processes and engineering changes, and perform operator certification on-the-job training and testing.
+ Resolve and prevent manufacturing issues by assisting engineering in determining root cause and implementing corrective and preventative action.
+ Review and disposition non-conforming material by utilising quality tools and by developing knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
+ Develop and implements process improvements by assisting engineering in researching and validating changes in processes/equipment and test methods to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time per established procedures.
+ Support process development during new product introduction by defining traceability and inspection requirements, developing statistical process control criteria, developing manufacturing instructions, and creating training sheets and certifications.
+ Provide input to engineering, qualification, and validation studies and reports by collecting, compiling, measuring, organising and recording data, and by writing procedures. May keep lab notebook.
**EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES - QUALITY TECHNICIAN:**
+ (Education/ Experience) National Framework of Qualifications level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline and 4+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
+ (Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills)) Applies extensive knowledge of advanced technical concepts and practices, and a complete understanding of product or systems fundamentals in a functional area, and working knowledge of other related disciplines. Utilises/interprets advanced numerical and statistical data and computer software programs to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
+ (Cognitive Skills) Performs complex technical assignments usually without established procedures. Assists in the design, development, evaluation or modification of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. **As the Manufacturing Technician, you will:**
+ Observe and comply with all safety rules and regulations. This includes Quality Systems Registrars (QSR) and International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) Standards.
+ Identify and implement corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
+ Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.
+ Install and validate equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
+ Evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. May develop or revise documents and procedures.
+ Certify manufacturing associates in the production processes.
+ Evaluate and order necessary equipment, tools and fixtures.

+ (Experience/Education) National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline. Relevant work experience advantageous but not essential or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Utilises basic knowledge of numerical and/or statistical data and computer software programs to resolve routine problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. **Summary**
The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the set-up, installation, maintenance and support of automated equipment ensuring optimum performance and the achievement of operational goals. The Equipment Maintenance Technician works closely with teams to resolve manufacturing issues and constraints while implementing safe and robust solutions to improve overall efficiency through improvement projects around run rate increase, cycle time gains, yields and quality.
This position for the day 8 AM - 8 PM Days.
This position will report to the Team Leader.
**Detailed Description**
- Repairs and troubleshoots electro/mechanical equipment failures.
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance procedures.
- Helps move, install, set-up and refurbish equipment.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.
- Records significant downtime issues and resolutions in appropriate databases.
- Interacts with other departments as required to co-ordinate equipment repairs.
- Works proactively to ensure performance targets are met; Yield/quality (using SPC/SQC)/production outs/up-time /process stability.
- Communicates potential problems that may affect capacity and quality to the Business Unit Team Leader as well as across zones/work areas where necessary.
- Attends pass-downs as required and provides status updates.
- Provides detailed inputs into failed spare parts management process.
- Supports Process Engineers to ensure Continuous Improvements are ongoing.
- Trains and assists other Technicians and Operators.
**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**
+ Strong knowledge of the setup, operation, and maintenance of specific equipment sets used in manufacturing processes.
+ Strong troubleshooting/Problem solving skills.
+ Demonstrates a high level of technical ability, with hands on approach to solving technical issues.

**Typical Experience**
- 2 - 4 years+ experience as a Technician in a high volume automated environment.
- Minimum Cert./Diploma/Senior Trades in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, Motor drives, pneumatic and hydraulic components is an advantage.
