Job Description

Power Market Pricing and Structuring Manager
European Power Markets

Our vision is to make net zero a reality by solving the commercial mechanics

of a decarbonised energy system.

ElectroRoute is an international, renewables focused, energy trading and services company. The company has grown rapidly from a start-up in 2011 to now employing over 130 professionals based in Ireland, the UK, Europe, and Japan. ElectroRoute is a subsidiary of the Japanese trading house, Mitsubishi Corporation.

ElectroRoute intelligently leverages the benefits of new technologies, our advanced methodologies, and the application of unrivalled expertise to develop innovative energy trading and renewable risk management solutions. These mitigate the factors which impede clean energy investment and help make net zero a reality.

Our expert trading team operates 24x7 in Ireland, the UK, across Continental Europe and in Japan; utilising our bespoke trading platform, ElectroRoute CORE to provide essential trading services to wind farms, solar farms, and batteries. With over 3GW of assets under contract, ElectroRoute is growing rapidly across all asset classes.

Our ambitious growth plans will see us increasing the volume and variety of our activities over the coming years, requiring growth in the strength and depth of our team to help us make net zero a reality. A particular focus for growth currently is the structuring competitive terms to develop contracting throughout Ireland, Great Britain and extending further Europe.

The Position

To achieve its ambitions, ElectroRoute wishes to continue to grow its high calibre team and is currently seeking a talented Power Market Pricing and Structuring Manager, reporting to the Head of Middle Office. The Manager will take ownership of the pricing function within the Middle Office, leading a team of two analysts to structure and value a wide range of energy contracts across Ireland, GB, and Europe. This includes – but is not limited to – wind/solar route to market agreements (RtMs), fixed-priced power purchase agreements (PPAs), and battery energy storage system (BESS) floor and toll structures. This role is critical to ElectroRoute's growth ambitions and need to maximise the company's return on risk capital. The right candidate can be someone with prior managerial experience or someone looking to advance their career.

The Role

  • Leading the team in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of historical, Monte-Carlo and fundamental (e.g. PLEXOS) modelling
  • Managing and mentoring two pricing analysts, ensuring high-quality output and professional development
  • Monitoring market and regulatory changes to optimise pricing strategies and identify new product opportunities
  • Leverage wider analytical function within the company to enhance BESS valuation and optimisation
  • Ensure a transparent pricing approach which is consistent with the company's risk tolerance and commercial priorities
  • Routinely present insights to senior management, accepting and delivering challenges to valuation methodology and pricing strategy.
  • Work closely with Front Office Originators to design and structure bespoke commercial offers, including PPAs, hedging instruments, and tolling agreements,
  • Developing and maintaining pricing frameworks for complex structures such as co-located assets (e.g., BESS with solar/wind) and merchant-exposed revenue streams.

Role Requirements

  • 5-10 years energy market experience
  • Direct experience in a renewable pricing role, including Route to Market agreements and PPAs
  • A deep understanding of the operation of electricity systems and energy market rules, with a focus on Ireland, Great Britain and other European systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing deliveries – and frequently changing commercial priorities – whilst ensuring the accuracy of all output.
  • Experience in developing/maintaining dispatch models (preferably PLEXOS).
  • Experience using Excel, SQL, and Python to perform time series analysis on large datasets.

Desired Skills

  • Experience structuring and pricing BESS toll and/or floor agreements
  • Experience pricing RtM agreements in the German market
  • A track record of structuring new products or entering new markets
  • Experience building and maintaining a shared library of Python code
  • Prior experience leading a small team
