Job role:
Within this role, you will join our highly skilled equipment build team and be responsible for all different aspects of the build process of automation equipment from manufacture to installation at our customer's site.
This is a hands-on role which includes manufacturing components, assembly, test, debug and installation both at our facility in Galway, and occasionally at our customer's facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for aspects of the mechanical manufacture and build of equipment
- Follow mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics to manufacture and assemble parts
- Communicate with other internal departments during all phases of the project
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Travel may be required

What You'll Do
As a Civil Engineering Apprentice, you'll play an active role in construction site management. Working under the guidance of an experienced mentor and university tutor, your role and responsibilities will grow as you build technical skills and knowledge.
You'll be placed on various project sites across Ireland, where you'll gain hands-on experience with activities such as:
- Dimensional control of site works
- Understanding project engineering requirements

Programme Qualification

Location and Travel Requirements
This apprenticeship will involve placements across Ireland. Many of our sites are in remote locations, so a willingness to travel is essential, and a full clean driving license is required.

The Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Apprentice will serve as an integral member of the Maintenance and Engineering team in an end-to-end (Drug Substance, Drug Product and Packaging) manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high standard of work, adhere to schedules and be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

About the role:
We are currently seeking to recruit an Installation Engineering Apprentice to join Arjo & work through a Solas Original Equipment Manufacturing Apprenticeship program. This programme is a 3 year apprenticeship with 16 weeks in a classroom environment per annum. When outside the classroom the engineering apprenticeship will learn how to build, install & service medical equipment and carry out the installation of Arjo equipment into long term and acute healthcare facilities in ROI.
Upon completion of the programme, successful candidates will graduate with an Advanced Certificate in Original Equipment Manufacturing.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- To assist & shadow Arjo Installation engineers with the installation of Arjo equipment in accordance with company and installation procedures, whilst seeking to optimise use of time and minimise associated costs.
- To understand & learn about Arjo products that you are working on, as well as all technical procedures.
- To follow all company and local health and safety requirements
- Complete and submit all relevant documentation accurately and within agreed timescales
- On arrival at customer's premises, to inform staff of reason for visit and request permission before carrying out required work. Upon completing of required work, to ensure work area is clean and tidy, disposal of parts and chemicals in line with site instruction and relevant documentation is fully completed, correctly authorised and required copies left with authorising employee.
- To feedback any recommendations to Arjo following visitors to customers premises, and on an ongoing basis to contribute ideas and observations in a professional manner, that may support ongoing improvement in Arjo products and services.
- Maintain tools, spares and equipment in a safe working condition, highlighting anything unsafe to the Installation Supervisor immediately. Any losses, breakages or excess wear and tear should be reported to obtain replacements.
- Liaise with customer contacts to advise intended appointment times and duration of works to ensure customers are fully informed at all times
- To understand & learn how to carry out service, repairs or retro fits to equipment on-service contract in accordance with Arjo Service procedures or technical advice notices as and when required

About the role:
We are currently seeking to recruit an Installation Engineering Apprentice to join Arjo & work through a Solas Original Equipment Manufacturing Apprenticeship program. This programme is a 3 year apprenticeship with 16 weeks in a classroom environment per annum. When outside the classroom the engineering apprenticeship will learn how to build, install & service medical equipment and carry out the installation of Arjo equipment into long term and acute healthcare facilities in ROI.
Upon completion of the programme, successful candidates will graduate with an Advanced Certificate in Original Equipment Manufacturing.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- To assist & shadow Arjo Installation engineers with the installation of Arjo equipment in accordance with company and installation procedures, whilst seeking to optimise use of time and minimise associated costs.
- To understand & learn about Arjo products that you are working on, as well as all technical procedures.
- To follow all company and local health and safety requirements
- Complete and submit all relevant documentation accurately and within agreed timescales
- On arrival at customer's premises, to inform staff of reason for visit and request permission before carrying out required work. Upon completing of required work, to ensure work area is clean and tidy, disposal of parts and chemicals in line with site instruction and relevant documentation is fully completed, correctly authorised and required copies left with authorising employee.
- To feedback any recommendations to Arjo following visitors to customers premises, and on an ongoing basis to contribute ideas and observations in a professional manner, that may support ongoing improvement in Arjo products and services.
- Maintain tools, spares and equipment in a safe working condition, highlighting anything unsafe to the Installation Supervisor immediately. Any losses, breakages or excess wear and tear should be reported to obtain replacements.
- Liaise with customer contacts to advise intended appointment times and duration of works to ensure customers are fully informed at all times
- To understand & learn how to carry out service, repairs or retro fits to equipment on-service contract in accordance with Arjo Service procedures or technical advice notices as and when required
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Willingness to work within a hands-on role as part of a team or as an individual
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer focussed
- Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in use of power tools and following installation manuals (desired but not essential)
Personal Qualities
- Requirement to travel & overnight stays in various locations with ROI
- Must hold a full driving licence
- A Garda Vetting check will be carried out (at the cost of Arjo)
Entry requirement:
- Level of education at the minimum standard as per SOLAS requirement
- Pass Colour Vision test
