While completing a standards-based Mechanical apprenticeship, combining on the job training with off the job learning, the Mechanical Apprentice will assist the Parkmore Engineering Maintenance Team with maximising equipment reliability through targeted maintenance activities and improvements. The Mechanical Apprentice will learn how to restore and enhance equipment performance by utilising best in class engineering practices.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• This is a temporary position for the apprenticeship duration.
• Perform a variety of Engineering Maintenance tasks in the Mechanical and automated control areas.
• Fabrication and machining of components and fixtures utilising Lathes, Milling Machines and other workshop equipment, to aid manufacturing.
• Ensures maintenance activities are performed and delivered to the required safety and cGMP standards.
• Minimise equipment downtime through rapid response to issues, the identification of root cause and implementation of corrective/preventative measures.
• Records maintenance activity, corrective actions and root cause of issues in the CMMS system.
• Works from schematics, Engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Executes preventative maintenance routines in compliance with schedule.
• Provides analysis, reporting and internal communication services with team members.
• Develops knowledge of industry and organizational processes.

Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Programme

This is a dynamic alternative route into the civil engineering field in Ireland, combining practical on-the-job learning with academic development.

Our apprenticeship provides an "earn and learn" model to build your skills and knowledge. By the end of this programme, you'll have achieved the educational foundation for professional registration with Engineers Ireland at either the Technician or Associate Engineer Level.

What You'll Do
As a Civil Engineering Apprentice, you'll play an active role in construction site management. Working under the guidance of an experienced mentor and university tutor, your role and responsibilities will grow as you build technical skills and knowledge.

You'll be placed on various project sites across Ireland, where you'll gain hands-on experience with activities such as:

• Dimensional control of site works
• Understanding project engineering requirements
• Site planning and activity coordination
• Reading and interpreting site documents (e.g. drawings, specifications, standards)
• Supporting project engineers and construction managers in developing construction strategies and schedules

Programme Qualification
Upon completion, you'll receive either a QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering or a QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, depending on the duration of your apprenticeship.

Location and Travel Requirements
This apprenticeship will involve placements across Ireland. Many of our sites are in remote locations, so a willingness to travel is essential, and a full clean driving license is required.

SUMMARY

The Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Apprentice will serve as an integral member of the Maintenance and Engineering team in an end-to-end (Drug Substance, Drug Product and Packaging) manufacturing facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support to the on-site maintenance and engineering personnel in daily routine and non-routine tasks.
• Operate and maintain systems such as emergency standby equipment, utilities and HVAC.
• Opportunity to provide technical support to various cross functional teams throughout the site.
• Responsible for providing support to all equipment so they remain operational, available for use and ensure it is GxP compliant at all times.
• Ensure that all maintenance duties are carried out in accordance to cGMP regulations, safety considerations and site quality standards.
• Use of permit to work system and other on-site safety systems to control engineering activities.

EDUCATION

Applicants must have achieved at least Grade D in five Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics, English and preferably one Technical/Science subject. (Current leaving cert students may apply but offer is subject to successfully pass these subjects).

• Requirement to travel & overnight stays in various locations with ROI
• Must hold a full driving licence
• A Garda Vetting check will be carried out (at the cost of Arjo)

• Level of education at the minimum standard as per SOLAS requirement
• Pass Colour Vision test
