About The Role
The Network Engineering Managerd is a role with strong focus and experience on both traditional on-prem networking and Cloud networking, as well as SDWAN. This role requires the candidate to be comfortable leading a team of network administrators/engineers, located around the globe, with a strong focus on Operations and Support. The candidate will need strong budgetary skills and be competent in talking to all levels of the organisation.

This position is part of the Network Team and reports to the SVP of Infrastructure Services – Network. This role interacts closely with IT architects, engineering groups, system admins, application support, and development groups worldwide.

Job Duties in Brief

The Main Responsibilities Of This Position Are

  • Oversee routine maintenance activities, like patching of network devices, software upgrades, tech refreshes.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service to our clients (internal and external).
  • Responsible for proactive and reactive monitoring of the global Citco network, including WAN and LAN at the datacentres and at the remote offices worldwide and our cloud networks.
  • Strive towards operational excellence, continuous improvement, process stream-lining.
  • Possess strong traditional networking and cloud networking experience and understanding.
  • Show strong understanding of network security concepts and practices.
  • Escalation point for complex troubleshooting. Recognized across the organization for his/her/their expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems.
  • Contribute and review the team's processes, policies, configuration standards, etc.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code practices with focus on Networking.
  • Build cloud infrastructure topology and environments, by means of automation (AWS Cloud Formation, Azure ARM templates, pipelines, etc).
  • Strong familiarity with SDWAN.
  • Elevate the skills of the Network Team in the area of cloud networking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities of the Network Operations Team to align priorities with the needs of the business.
  • Level 2 and level 3 support of the network infrastructure.
  • Monitor the performance of the on-prem and cloud network infrastructure, and strive to resolve issues before they impact users.
  • Capacity management and capacity planning for the network infrastructure.
  • Manage Priority One problems to closure.
  • Mentor the rest of the team to elevate their technical and soft skills and impulse their professional growth.
  • Ongoing and annual appraisal of subordinate staff.
  • Present budget requirements at year end and justify capital and operational expenditure.
  • Show excellent decision-making skills that are business and client centric.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Travel potentially up to several times per year
  • Abide by established processes, procedures and policies.
  • Maintain the on-call rotation calendar and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Keep informed on new developments and products in our technology area and recommend implementation of new solutions as appropriate.

  • The successful candidate is an experienced and energetic contributor, with the ability to build customer relationships, while driving alignment and strategy in the Network IT group. You can impact both day-to-day service delivery and long-term structural group alignment and strategy definition. Mature communicator, with the ability to effectively convey information of a technical nature to non-technical audiences.

Experience And Technical Skills

  • Must haves - Strong knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in the following areas and technologies
  • Traditional enterprise networking (Cisco switches and routers, Meraki switches, Nexus switches, etc).
  • SDWAN technologies – Vmware Velocloud.
  • Azure, AWS, Google GCP, Oracle OCI cloud fundamentals, with emphasis on networking.
  • Experience automating and scripting the management and operations of network infrastructure with tools such as Terraform Ansible, GitHub, JFrog or Network specific automation tools.
  • Scripting and programming skills (json, yaml, python, powershell, bash shell, DOS batch, perl, etc).
  • Palo Alto firewalls and their administration from Panorama.
  • F5 BigIP load balancers.
  • Network monitoring systems (Cacti, Solarwinds, MRTG, etc).
  • At least 15 years of experience in networking.
  • At least 5 years network management experience.
  • Analysis of packet captures (with Wireshark, etc) and flows using Netflow collectors (Solarwinds).
  • Education

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
People Management and Support

  • Promote open information exchange, resolve intra- and inter-team issues, manage conflicts, remove barriers for agile priority shifts, and engage all stakeholders to meet mutual objectives and represent the organization effectively

Network Design and Implementation

I am excited to be working with one of Europe's leading companies who are looking to fill a number of critical Network Security Engineers to work from their state of the art Dublin offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and secure Cisco Routers, Switches, Networking Devices, and Security Appliances.
  • Configure, support, and troubleshoot Firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS solutions across complex networking environments.
  • Design and implement secure network architectures using Cisco Secure Access, Edge Network Security, Threat Control, and Secure Mobility solutions.
  • Deploy and manage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and implement 802.1X secure network access policies.
  • Monitor and maintain network access security using Cisco ISE appliances.
  • Implement advanced Cisco security solutions to mitigate external threats and protect connected devices.
  • Provide operational support for identity management and network access control systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues within Cisco network security appliances and Cisco IOS Software devices.
  • Configure Cisco perimeter edge security solutions, including Cisco ASA firewalls.
  • Manage and maintain the security of Cisco switches, routers, and ASA firewalls.

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Umbrella, Stealthwatch, WSA, ESA, AMP for Network and Endpoint, ASA, NGFW, Firepower NGIPS, Cloudlock CASB, AnyConnect, ACI Security, Threat Control, TrustSec, and DNA.

We have an exclusive requirement for a Network Security specialist with one of our long-standing clients in Dublin Ireland offering a very flexible hybrid schedule.

The Network Security Engineer will be joining the Design & Engineering team. You will be the 10th member of a highly skilled group of security engineers, working across complex customer environments, delivering implementations, migrations, and escalations.

This is a hands-on technical role that will require you to have expertise in Check Point firewalls focusing on project delivery, advanced troubleshooting and collaboration with peers.

What You'll Do

  • Implement, configure, and manage Check Point firewalls and security solutions.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex issues.
  • Assist in customer projects, including migrations (Fortinet to Check Point).
  • Support solution design when required.
  • Collaborate with peers, knowledge share, and contribute to a strong team culture.

What You Will Have

  • Strong hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls.
  • Check Point certifications ideally CCSE
