The Role:
The CNM2 will provide leadership, direction and support to a number of teams to ensure the development of person-centred services as agreed on the Service Plan for each area. The CNM2 will support the Team Leaders and staff teams and be part of the overall John Paul Adult Service Management Team. With Person in Charge responsibilities, the Team CNM2 will be responsible for ensuring that the designated centre assigned to them meets the regulations as laid out in the Health Act 2007. The successful candidate will work closely with the Service Coordinator and Area Manager to ensure that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner within the agreed budget.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
Candidates must have -
A current Live Register Certificate with the NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID qualification is desirable.
A minimum of 3 year's experience in a similar role working in a person-centred service supporting people with intellectual disabilities, complex health needs, and experience of supporting individuals with challenging behaviour is required.
An appropriate qualification in Management and Leadership. (If the successful applicant does not hold such a qualification they will be expected to complete the course within 3 months of taking up the post).
Practical working knowledge of and experience of working within, the 2007 Health Act and subsequent HIQA regulations and Standards is essential.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high degree of practical leadership, communication and team working skills.
The successful candidate must be flexible and dynamic individual who can relate to people in a range of situations, as well as demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of public accountability as they apply in the health service.
Candidates must have a full clean manual Irish driving licence.
Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Proficiency in computer skills and online data management systems is also essential.
Working Hours:
37.5 hours per week based on a 7-day duty roster. It is envisaged that this post will primarily be Monday to Friday with contracted hours of work liable to change between the hours of 8am – 8pm. Some weekend work will be required. An on-call commitment covering John Paul Adult Services, Caislean and Cregoran Services on a 7-day rostered basis is an essential requirement of the post.
Annual Leave:
25 days per annum. Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years' service respectively.
Remuneration:
Department of Health Clinical Nurse Manager 2 salary scale (01/08/ €61,463 x 9 increments - €5,405 (maximum of scale) per annum. LSI ,666 per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Probation:
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the posts. The
employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period
may be extended at the Employer's discretion.

Clinical Practice

 - In addition to observing practice, the CNM also monitors standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and fosters an effective working relationship and good communication between Staff Nurses, Care Assistants, and housekeeping staff.
 - Responsible for ensuring environmental and hand hygiene audits are carried out regularly and thoroughly and that action plans are implemented and sustained.
 - Responsible for carrying out of medication audits, health & safety audits, risk assessments and drawing up risk management plans – in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
 - Responsible for auditing Epicare and for addressing any issues in relation to documentation – in association with Staff Nurses and Care Assistants (Touch screen).
 
Residents/Relatives - Person Centre
- Interact and support residents and families daily. The CNM is a key point of contact for all relatives and visitors and an ambassador for the Care Centre.
 - Ensure that complaints are swiftly deal with at the point of contact.
 
Management
- Ability to assist with all the Director of Nursing responsibilities to effectively take on the role when covering for annual leave.
 - Be responsible for daily activities including checking and managing rosters when required, attending handovers, reviewing resident progress
 - Support and develop clinical practice through a hands-on approach with Staff Nurses and Care Assistants in the delivery of care.
 - Implement Company Health and Safety Policy to safeguard the safety and welfare of staff, residents and others.
 
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:
- BSc in General Nursing or equivalent.
 - Previous managerial training / experience is an advantage.
 - Registered on the NMBI live register.

We are recruiting a CNM for a care home in Cork 
Candidate must be NMBI registered and have at least 2 years management experience in Care Homes.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all managerial nursing duties necessary to maintain the efficient running and working of the department.
 - Ensure that nursing care is planned, assessed, delivered and evaluated on an individual basis for each patient, by all members of the nursing team.
 - Ensure that agreed standards are practiced and maintained.
 - Any other duties or responsibilities appointed by the Director of Nursing.
 - 2+ Years Experience working in a Nursing Home role Registered Nurse preferred but other applicants will be considered
 - Understanding of HIQA regulation
