Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Contract: Permanent, Full-time Reporting Relationship The post holder reports to the Director of Clinical Operations on all operational & clinical matters.
Role Summary The Occupational Therapy Manager is a key appointment in the development of a comprehensive/effective service for adults & older adults with mental health needs (500 beds).
The Occupational Therapy Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of occupational therapy provision within Highfield Healthcare in keeping with good professional practice and subject to agreed national policy directives and priorities.
The Occupational Therapy Manager as Head of Discipline will be responsible for clinical supervision and clinical governance as outlined under the CORU guidelines, to Occupational Therapists working in Highfield Healthcare services.
The Occupational Therapy Department provides a service to the following clinical specialities; Psychiatry Older Adults/Psychiatry of Later life (14 beds) Specialised Rehabilitation Units (Mental Health, 22 beds)) Acute Mental Health (Inpatient 21 beds) Long term Mental health ( 3 units 60 beds) Home Treatment Team (Lucan & Main site) Day Hospitals (Mental Health) (Lucan, Elmhurst & Main site) Dementia Care/Nursing Home (Alzheimers Care Centre & Nursing home) The post holder will also establish links with internal & external stakeholders of the organisation to raise the profile of Occupational Therapy delivered by Highfield Healthcare.
Internal stakeholders: Consultants Psychiatrists Heads of Discipline Clinical Nurse Managers Senior Management All members of Occupational Therapy Team External stakeholders examples: Occupational Therapy Managers in CHO 9 & other relevant fields Education Institutions (TCD, NUI Galway, UL etc ) Equipment suppliers AOTI Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/ or experience Candidates must: Demonstrate sufficient clinical and professional knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
Have at least 4 years experience in a senior role in Mental health.

We are now seeking an experienced Patient Admin/ Aide to join our team in Affidea - Charlestown Responsibilities: Patient Administrator: Patient Coordination: Greet and assist patients in person, by phone, or via email in a professional and courteous manner.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of clinical resources.
Register new patients and update existing records accurately in the patient management system.
Provide patients with necessary information regarding appointments, procedures, and clinic policies.
Administrative Support: Maintain and organize patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Process referrals, medical reports, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
Liaise with clinical staff to coordinate patient flow and support service delivery.
Handle patient queries and complaints, escalating issues when necessary.
Systems and Documentation: Use software to manage patient data and appointment schedules.
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and filed appropriately.
Generate reports and assist with audits as required by management.
Compliance and Quality: Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean and organized reception and administrative area.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to service development.
Radiographer Aide: Patient-Facing Support Greet patients, verify identity at every encounter, explain what to expect, and provide empathetic support throughout the visit.
Assist with safe patient transfers and positioning using approved manual-handling techniques; remain with and monitor patients who require supervision; promptly escalate concerns to the supervising Radiographer/Sonographer.
Support basic comfort needs and keep patients informed about delays and next steps.
MRI Support Assist with patient changing, transfers, comfort and communication; restock consumables and support questionnaire pre-checks as directed.
Assist the Radiographers in placing and removing coils, and patient positioning Quality, Safety & Infection Prevention Uphold Infection Prevention & Control, JCI hygiene standards and International Patient Safety Goals.
Follow local radiation protection rules when present in the MRI department.
Participate in audits, stock checks, equipment cleaning logs and room turnaround standards; report incidents/near misses promptly.
Stock, Housekeeping & Logistics Keep clinical and non-clinical areas tidy and ready; restock consumables; manage waste streams correctly (incl.
sharps/clinical waste).
Professional Conduct & Development Maintain confidentiality and data protection; use PPE and follow manual/patient handling training.
Support new staff orientation when asked; complete mandatory training and keep competencies up to date (e.g., BLS, manual handling, fire etc.) Qualifications Essential Leaving Certificate or equivalent Fluent in written and Oral English Desirable FETAC Level 5 Care Assistant FETAC with Radiographer Module complete Manual Handling, Basic Life Support, Fire Training Certificates Experience Experience in a care assistant role in a hospital or nursing home environment is beneficial but not critical Excellent customer facing skills Ability to handle patient complaints in line with company guidelines Ability to work as part of a team Strong patient focus Application Process: By clicking apply to this role your application will not only be considered for this position, but your details will be stored on our database and may be considered for similar future positions that may arise.
