Our client is a public health and social care service. The Three Ireland Technical lead serves as the primary subject matter expert for our client's configuration, overseeing the management, deployment, and support of mobile devices and associated applications. This role will be based on the client site in Cork, 5 days a week. This role will lead technical relations for a diverse mobile device portfolio including Smartphones, Tablets, Fixed Wireless Access, IOT and Mobile Broadband devices ensuring seamless integration with corporate platforms and applications. What else it involves: Own and drive the mobile technology strategy, ensuring its technically robust while delivering measurable business value for our client. Actively contribute to service and operations review meetings, presenting technical insights and commercial recommendations Design and implement policies and procedures that strengthen the mobile environment while supporting our client's business goals. Leverage your technical expertise to improve operational efficiency and service quality, always balancing innovation with cost-effectiveness Provide training, mentorship, and capability development for the framework client team. Support product lifecycle execution, ensuring cross-functional alignment. Provide validation of new Device Software and Hardware to ensure it's within the client's framework. You will be required to travel to Three Ireland offices in Dublin and in Limerick once per month to liaise with colleagues in both locations. The Skills we are looking for: Hands on experience with mobile application development, cellular and networks testing OS-Level diagnostics and direct vendor engagement on device engineering issues. Must have: Deep technical expertise in mobile technologies. Including mobile devices, consumer products, operating systems (Android / IOS) Cellular protocols (2G,3G,4G,5G,SA,NSA) and network interoperability. Health care device experience a plus. Proven technical leadership with the ability to guide teams through complex challenges and deliver measurable business results. Hands on experience in mobile application testing and troubleshooting including debugging and defect resolution across multiple device types and operating systems. Strong background in mobile device management (MDM) platforms and enterprise mobility solutions with a track record of designing, configuring and supporting secure deployment at scale. Extensive experience in device lifecycle management, from testing to staging through to deployment and firmware updates and end of life processes. Advance troubleshooting capabilities in complex mobile and network environments, including root cause analysis hardware, software, connectivity and service level issues. **What You'll Do**
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll serve as Applied's direct liaison with our customers and quickly solve high-value problems on their behalf. By collaborating closely with our customers onsite to install, maintain, and upgrade Applied Materials equipment, and with our internal teams to improve business processes, you'll make a significant impact on ensuring peak performance and deliver exceptional service, while becoming an integral part of Applied Materials' diverse and dynamic field team.
**_Applicants must be flexible to work shift patterns when required and be willing to travel off-site for training purposes._**
**Role Responsibilities:**
+ Perform field-based installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of complex Applied Materials equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and operational standards
+ Use digital analytics for troubleshooting
+ Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address technical issues
+ Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided)
+ Coordinate and communicate directly with customers
+ Fulfill additional duties, as assigned
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Completion of a Bachelor Degre,e in a relevant discipline
+ At least 1 year of work experience in customer/field service support, or a related technical field
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
+ Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges
+ Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics
+ Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills
+ Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
+ Able to meet all on-site requirements, including safety and environmental guidelines
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 2-4 years of work experience in customer/field service support, or a related technical field
**Physical Requirements:**
This position often requires extensive walking, standing for extended periods of time, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, working at height, lifting up to 35 lbs., the ability to distinguish between colors and working with electricity, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.
Additionally, because this position generally involves working in a clean room, it requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
