Operational Excellence Engineer
Your Role at Vantive:
We are actively seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies across the Castlebar and Swinford sites. This individual should be a strong team player, a Lean Leader with a thorough understanding of the philosophy and practicalities of Lean, with highly developed communication and presentation skills. The role requires a blend of technical proficiency, analytical skills, and leadership to effectively influence cross-functional teams, streamline processes, and ensure operational excellence. The Engineer, while reporting directly to the Operational Excellence Manager, will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure optimal performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with production, supply chain, quality, and other departments to enhance overall operational performance. Work closely with employees at all levels (Font Line associates to Site Leadership) to develop standards for continuous improvement.

Training and Development: Coach and mentor peers on Lean principles and other operational excellence tools.
Project Management: Plan, execute, and manage operational excellence projects to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Problem Solving and Decision Making: Apply a systematic approach to identifying problems, analyzing root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.
Communication and Presentation: Engage in transparent communication and deliver compelling presentations on operational improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Science, or a related field (level 7 or higher).
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in data analysis and familiar with process mapping tools such as Power BI an advantage
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in manufacturing environment
Experience leading operational improvement initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Job Description:
Operational Excellence Lead:
As Operational Excellence Manager at Takeda's Bray site, you will play a key role in driving a culture of continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. You will lead the site's Lean strategy and Agile Operating System (AOS) roadmap, coach cross-functional teams, and implement impactful process improvements. Working closely with Quality, Production, and Digital teams, you will help streamline operations, increase efficiency, and ensure sustainable performance improvements — all while upholding Takeda's high standards for safety, quality, and compliance.
Responsibilities :
- Drive the site's Operational Excellence (OE) strategy and AOS (Agile Operating System) roadmap.
- Lead Lean and Six Sigma (Green Belt level) initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
- Facilitate workshops (e.g. Kaizen events, value stream mapping, root cause analysis) to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Coach and develop site teams in Lean methodologies, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Quality, Production, Engineering, and Digital (DD&T) to ensure alignment and integration of improvement initiatives.
- Support digital transformation by identifying automation opportunities and data-driven process optimization.
- Oversee the Six Sigma program, including mentoring Yellow/Green Belts and certifying Yellow Belt candidates.
- Monitor and report performance metrics (KPIs), identify gaps, and lead corrective actions.
- Apply Organizational Change Management (OCM) principles (e3+) to drive successful implementation of improvement projects.
- Support strategic programs like Business Process of the Future and Factory of the Future.
- Ensure all initiatives are aligned with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific discipline; a master's degree (MBA or M.Sc.) is a plus.
- 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing or operations with a focus on Lean, OE, or Continuous Improvement.
- Lean/AOS and Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher); experience with Yellow Belt training/certification preferred.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional projects and delivering measurable improvements.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in change management (ideally e3+) and coaching stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable working in GMP-regulated environments; pharma experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tools such as SAP, MES, Minitab, and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a Business Partnering approach to deliver operational excellence on a functional and cross organisational approach within BOI.
- Shape and design improvement activity with key stakeholders, and ensure delivery, with colleague and customer at the core of every decision.
- Collaborate with Group IT, Group Data, Business Architecture, Group Customer Office and Business Teams & Marketing to develop organisational heatmaps and analysis which will form the basis for prioritisation and process improvement roadmap for functional areas.
- Utilise predominantly LEAN process management, service blueprint design, automation, digitisation and systems` transformation.
- Refine customer and colleague processes and deliver measurable improvements that align to delivery of divisional and group OKRs, including demonstrable reduction in;
- AHT, reduction in manual processes, reduction in operational risks and controls and reduction in customer complaints.
- Increase in conversion rates, CES and improved culture as measured by improved Open View metrics relating to processes and customer journey
- Reduction in processing costs to support delivery of business / divisional cost targets and incremental value creation
- Contribute to wider Operational Excellence activity across key customer and colleague journeys as part of embedding the broader digital, data and customer strategies - aligned to the evolving change landscape.
- Drive a culture of continuous top-down and bottom-up process improvement with a view to removing duplication and support Voice of Colleague initiatives

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a key position within Zoetis Global Manufacturing Supply (GMS) organization. The Operational Excellence Lead will provide leadership and hands on implementation in support of the overall Operational Excellence transformation program and will have full responsibility for the Rathdrum site's OpEx programs.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Key objectives of this position include:
Define and maintain the continuous improvement strategy of the plant in the OpEx Masterplan. Initiating sustainable transformational business improvement programs to meet/exceed customer expectations while using lean & Six Sigma thinking to drive continuous process improvement. Lead teams through the implementation of Lean Six Sigma projects to address specific business process problems and the design of new simplified standardized processes. Support all areas in Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with Key Performance indicators to drive measurable outcomes. Achieve agreed objectives as a result of improvement projects. Assist in the selection of priority Lean & Six Sigma projects for the plant. Provide Lean & Six Sigma training as needed for the plant: Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Standard Work, 5S, Human Performance, Lean. Coordinate the OpEx program with the Global OpEx team. Serve as a recognized expert to facilitate problem solving, workouts, value stream mapping and special data analysis as required. Ensure regular presence on the shop floor and other areas to engage with operational teams, observe processes and identify opportunities for improvement through direct interaction and observation. Network both internally and externally to exchange learning's and ensure best practices are adopted throughout the operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Certified Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt level (desirable)
- Minimum of 5 years progressive work experience in business environment preferably manufacturing, technical/engineering or supply chain management

- Demonstrated leadership and experience in leading teams / driving Lean Six Sigma project execution.
